basilo101: the problem is no one is definitively sure of the source of the violence.........even ekpa has sworn his group has nothing to do with the violence! which is why soludo should have been wise by talking to the 2 ipob factions and by process of elimination, isolate the criminal elements within the agitation! 1 Like 2 Shares |

IDENNAA: Well, that is life for you! sometimes when your desires jam reality, you are forced to compromise! The truth is that there is not much any of us can do to call it off, Soludo has considerable leeway to play grand politics on this issue! He should get the 2 factions in IPOB to the table first and see if they can call off the sit at home..........the state can agree to a sit at home on court days alone for the meantime.......while soludo pursues a speedy trial or political solution on this Nnamdi Kanu issue! Simon Ekpa himself has to also be politically pragmatic as well...........too many well-meaning young Igbo boys and girls have died over this agitation for us to treat this matter in the cavalier manner soludo tried to do initially, a good move by him is the truth and reconciliation panel he set up! 1 Like |

This is simply armchair political commentary! The man is not even a month into his journey and you are already laying a curse on his performance. A thousand pities. 3 Likes |

Take matter of Nnamdi Kanu to his Abia state. Soludo wasn't elected to dialogue with ipob or release Nnamdi Kanu. Soludo has exhausted his patience. Like he said any other person in the bush is now a common criminal and will be treated as such. You people should carry your ipob back to your states. [s] ebufa:[/s] 2 Likes |

OfoIgbo:Isn’t it odd to you that Umahi switched to APC and now there is no unrest in his State? Umahi’s loyalties are divided and he is doing the biddings of the Fulani led government. IPOB has called off the sit at home order. The FG modus operandi is to give IPOB/ESN a bad name, so as to hang it. Why will ESN that was formed to protect against Fulani bandits, all of a sudden start going after Igbo people? The hands of the Federal Government and DSS are all over this. They have 2 governors in the East in their pocket (Umahi and Hopeless Uzodinjo). These 2 governors, based on the bidding of the Federal Government, pay some jobless youth to burn down buildings in Anambra. I think people are faulting Soludo’s statement because he is half stepping. The unrest in Anambra has the hands of the APC led Federal Government all over it. If he cannot State that Uzodinjo and Umahi, at the directives of the APC led Federal Government are paying some jobless youth, along with DSS, to burn down structures in Anambara, then he should not have said anything at all ... and instead stealthily fight and fix the problem. IPOB/ESN can never burn down any parts of what they hope to be their future country. That an illiterate, hungry youth can be bought over for a loaf of bread to go burn down a building does not mean said youth represent IPOB/ESN or the vast majority of Igbo people. DSS is also very culpable. Their presence is very heavy in the East and they do and undo under cover of darkness and then their propaganda machine goes into overdrive, in the morning, blaming these and that group for what they themselves did. If Soludo cannot address the APC led FG and the APC governors in the East (one of which was imposed on the people of Imo state by an APC controlled Supreme Court) then he should not say anything at all. There should be no half stepping - go after the big fish - the ones behind it all. Name and shame the sellout governors because they because of their presidential and other selfish political ambitions, have decided to sell their people down the river. Also, that some young men are arrested and presented as the arsonist doesn’t mean that they really were. People are framed all the time in Nigeria, even summarily executed by the Police and DSS for crimes of which they know nothing. Even if proper investigation is done and they are found to be culpable, then go after their sponsors. One thing I know is there is something such as “no comment.” Soludo should be tight lipped and go about the business of taking Anambra to greater heights. If he chooses to speak, he should speak boldly and tell the whole story. Pussyfooting as he just did, served Igbo people no purpose. It just sets everyday Igbo people against other everyday Igbo people, while letting the APC led Federal Government and its minions in the East, off the hook. In effect, inadvertently helping them solididy their divide and conquer tactics. On another note Di’m Odumegwu Ojukwu, did wonderfully well be creating APGA. I dare say that APGA is the only hope of the South Eastern region. Because APC seeks to make the whole of Nigeria a one political party state, whereby they instal governors who are only interested in doing the bidding of the Fulani led Federal Government, as opposed to serving the best interest of the people of their states. Peter Obi did reasonably well as Governor of Anambra. When his 2 terms where over, why didn’t he remain as an APGA chieftain/Kingmaker and try to grow APGA massively on a regional level? Why switch to PDP to do whatever? I believe if he had remained to tirelessly build on what Ojukwu started, his name would be written in the annals of time, than this errand he is currently on. Cockrochas Okoroawusa had tried on 2 prior occasions to win governorship in Imo, without success. Then he switched to APGA (because he knew the sentimental value of APGA) in the hearts of Igbo people. He won under APGA and then switched midterm to APC. Why didn’t APGA sue him for this and seek to remove him from office? Why is it that Anambra people vote massively for PDP on the national level, but yet allow PDP to be pressing them on a state level, seeking to usurp the only state that APGA has? Why can’t APGA reach an informal agreement with PDP to look away from Anambra governorship election, in exchange for Anambrarian’s support at the national level? What is the party chairman of APGA doing? Can’t they woo prominent Igbo’s from other states (e.g Alex Otti) to run under APGA? What is being discussed at the South East governors forum? Could Umahi have been convinced (after his Governorship) to run for senate under the banner of APGA? Could he have been offered a choice position in the APGA party structure? All in all, APGA needs to work aggressively at moving itself from the status of a one party state. Even that one state that Anambra has, Anambra plays softball as opposed to hardball, with a PDP that seeks to strip it of its one and only state. Ojukwu’s influence as the ruler of the former Eastern region was what enabled him to create a party and actually have that party win an election on a state level. What have the current crop of APGA/ Igbo’s done to build on the foundation that was laid for them? Why are they not aggressively growing the party? Why are they allowing themselves to be pressed for the only state that they have? If APGA should lose Anambra (God forbid) then there will never be another viable Igbo party. People like Peter Obi, should have been thinking more long term. There is more honor in being a Chieftain and Kingmaker in APGA (leading your people in the right direction) than the current hijinks he is on. The only way forward is for Igbo’s to build a strong regional party, a party to be reckoned with and then enter into national politics from a position of strength. APGA is the only hope of the South East. APGA party members should not mismanage the solid foundation that was left for them. cc: SlayerForever, IDENNAA 2 Likes 1 Share |

leicestercamper:That means all the Fulani people in the bush are common criminals. Hmmm! I wonder why the Federal Government went into a fit of apoplexy, when ESN was created to counter the common criminals in the bush. The same FG is trying to tag IPOB and ESN as common criminals, so that the Fulani marauders can continue unhindered. Amazing! What a country! 1 Like 1 Share |

OfoIgbo:This is a valid question. But I also have to add that APGA needs to grow itself from within. What is the party chairman doing? Are they wooing eminently qualified men from these other states to run under the banner of APGA? Yes, a very patriotic and wise Igbo person would do it without any prodding. But not everyone is as wise and forward thinking. In fact some are asleep. You have to wake them up and get that zeal and fire burning in them. Once they are woke, they’ll never go back to sleeping on a bicycle. What’s seen (the light) can never be unseen. cc IGBOSON, SlayerForever, IDENNAA |

Eastlink:I don't believe in UGM language, the security agencies should fish out those people and call them by name unless the security agencies are hiding something. Otherwise, there is nothing like Unknown gunmen. These boys are known and coordinate well before hitting a state. So, they should explain to us who exactly they are? 1 Like |

dumodust: you are not being wise at all! Soludo has to be street smart and not just intelligent, how can you go after ndi agboro at the time he is also threatening ESN........so he wants to fight unemployed ndi agboro and criminals masking as ESN at the same time...................You may not be as smart as I thought! Do you know the number of political stalwarts he has rendered economically redundant, now more agboros will join the growing criminal camps all over the east! I have always maintained the subservience of Igbo politicians to Fulani interest is the existential threat to ndigbo but as usual are people are bein more emotional than being rational............why did our politicians not set up ebubeagu b4 IPOB established ESN? you guys just do not get it....my take is that IPOB should just disband ESN ...let every man protect himself and his household! |

dumodust: which people? the people that love Nnamdi Kanu like no other Igbo politician? you need to feel the pulse of the people first! yes the people are not comfortable with the whole UGM violence but they are savvy enough to know that IPOB called the sit at home in the first place to force Igbo governors to react to MNK's detention.................soludo should wisely decouple the sit at home from his wars against criminals and touts! |
