Hello @Febfun,

Here are the points I'd like you to buttress.

From your explanation, you earn N670k and your expense is upto ~ 300k monthly leaving you with ~N370k.

- You intend to travel with two kids

- You have a fixed deposit.

Always, the UK Visa Consular wants to be very convinced that you can afford the trip without breaking the bank

On the average, you will want to book three return (3) flight tickets each of which costs averagely N365-N400k. (~N1,200 for 3 passengers). Then you also need to budget for accommodation, transportation, feeding and other misc depending on the number of days you would be spending. You will realise that the trip would cost you a minimum of ~N2.5M. The monies coming from your businesses should have been in a normal savings account instead of fixed deposit and by this way you could have an average monthly income (aggregate of your salary and income from businesses). The Consular wants to see a consistency in your income flow.

The money received from your husband is also good.

Also, I would advise if you cut down your monthly expenses to maybe N150k monthly. This would increase the amount of income available for you to spend.

It would be worrisome to the consular If you would spend upto or more than six month (6) of your income on a single trip.

Febfun:
Urgent!!!!!! @justwise and other gurus on this platform , I need your ideas on how to go about my UK visa application. My salary is #670k after tax . The balance on my salary account is #2.1m, my husband deposited 700k cash into my account and he tagged it " Family Travel Allowance" totalling #2.8m. in addition, I have #2m fixed deposit ( certificate of investment) with FCMB on my name which will be liquidated by May this year. The two million deposit is the income from rent which is paid yearly by cash from tenants and it's available to me for my UK trip. I'm applying with 2 kids on a tourist visa. I spend an Average of 250k -300k monthly from my account . The total balance of fund available is #4.8 million Here are the list of documents
1. Employment letter
2. Leave letter
3. Introduction letter
4. Marriage certificate
5.building plan/property - on myself & husband's name
6. 2 Car documents - one on my name, other on my husband's name
7. Hotel reservations for two weeks
8. London pass
9. Children birth certificates , my birth certificate
10. 6 months Payslip
11. Rent receipts/ lease agreements , survey/plan from other building inherited from my Dad.
12. Six months bank statement with 2.8million balance in total
13. #2 million- Certificate of investment - The source is from yearly rental income
14. Letter from children school indicating , they will be on holiday
15. Consent letter from my husband
16. Family pictures
My questions- (1) is there any other thing I need to add?
(2)Is the certificate of investment OK as an addition to my available fund for the trip , is there any further suggestion on it?
(3) is the cash deposit of 700k into my account by my husband which he tagged "family travel allowance" calls for other back up documentation. Note that , my husband explained in his consent letter that he made a provision of 700k cash deposit for our hotel allowance.
I will appreciate your prompt response , I wish to hear from the house before I proceed to submit .
Thank you .

You need minimum of six months on your passport. Technically, you can't have a visa on your passport while its expiry date is less than the minimum visa that can be issued. In this case, UK issues 6 months for visiting visa but you've got 5 months on your passport. This won't work. You will need to wait to renew your passport a few weeks to expiry and then apply for the visa.
hi, it works fine. People have been issued visas longer than passport validity dates by UK.
Seen with my eyes in person and virtually even on the student thread.

Sorry about the refusal.

The reason for the refusal is clearly stated. If you can fix the uncertainties in the letter, there is likelihood that will get the visa.
Also, if you'd like to apply for a student visa, this refusal would not affect anything so far your new application atleast 6 months away the refusal date bear in mind also that you will need the whole UK visa processing to be completed before the resumption of the academic session at the school you intend to attend.

All the best!

Thanks. Well the refusal came in March. And I will be turning in a student visa application by June/July....less than 6 months from refusal date. Paid half of my tuition in UK.

Even if you put and you can put in a new application within 24hours of a refusal, as long you have no ban, you would do no wrong in regards to that. Your new application would always be decided on the merits it deserves.

Good morning to everyone, attached was the response I received after sending paid mail. Is it safe for me to go to tls with this response to check if my visa is ready or not? Biometric was done around early Feb. Thank you

Update!!!Update!!!Update!!!

I just got back from TLS. I was able to explain my issue to one of the representative at TLS, she told me I do not have any choice than to wait for the collection email. So I can not have my passport if I’ve not received an email from them. Thanks to everyone for the contribution.

Start celebrating as you await passport collection mail from TLS.

Thanks for the update and feedback. Thank God I didn't bother travelling down to lagos just to check if my passport is with tls.
I need clarification please. How come some people are getting their passports returned faster than others. If there is really a delay in passport return to nigeria as they claim, is it not supposed to affect all applications from Nigeria? Or are the applications not all reviewed and processed in uk? Can't the same logistics used to bring down those other passports from the uk be used to bring ours as well? I have been waiting for the return of my passport for well over two months now

Some applications are not straightforward, thus decision making takes longer as to normal in such cases. Each application is processed on individual basis whilst they work to deliver within normal time-frame. All fingers are not equal, apply that as well, and you have all clarifications you would have needed. Hopefully it ends well and worth the wait, when your travel document is readied for collection.

I wasn't referring to the time it takes to make a decision on an application. I know definitely that it differs based on individual applications.
I was referring to the time it takes to return passports back to the owners since decision has been made. In my case the decision has long been made and I know this because the first paid mail I sent since mid last month confirmed a decision has been made and that I should be expecting my passport. That's why am wondering if it is not the same logistics process involved in returning of all passports.

I did my biometrics on the 21st of March. I still need to wait right? And please when do i send a “paid email” like the others are doing and how do i go about it.? Thanks guys

Hello,

Your HR where you work should be able to provide this document for you or Google search.

Cheers

No payslip for my salary ever since I have been working. MD only give cheque or transfer. But for this case of visa application, I will need a payslip for 6 months.

My greatest challenge now is the tax payment I am seeing in the sample of payslip I am seeing online. Coz I never pay tax before. If I assume to be paying it, do I need to present evidence of it?

Please gurus in the house make una put mouth

If I don't include it, hope it won't call for disapproval of my application. This my first time of applying for UK Visa.

My application was rejected simply because the company i work for is showing inactive. I'm speechless
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Mattycoke: 6:33pm On Apr 13, 2022
Hello, I'm in the same situation and i would like to contact you please respond to my PM. Thanks
zipec:
I think I really need to share my little experience with the UKVI in order to help those having issues with INACTIVE status.

The truth is that UKVI is always looking for flimsy excuses to refuse your application. My uncle was one of the first set of applicants to be refused because of inactive status when he applied for renewal in April 2021.

I was furious when I read the refusal letter. I did a little research online to see why his business was inactive, and I found out that it was because of failing to file annual returns, which does not correlate with whether a business is trading or not, and CAC never informed the business owners or companies.

I sent a complaint email to HO blasting the ECO and accusing him/her of not being competent. Although the decision was not overturned for other stupid reason, but they accepted and noted my explanation regarding the issue of inactive. See the attached reply from the ECM.

We reapplied in September last year and we included the complaint email i sent to the HO in the application and his 5 years visa was granted.

So please, you can defend those nonsense excuses UKVI is using to refuse applications, especially those who are employed and your employer name is showing inactive.
