What renovation means to Nigeria is repainting and putting tiles in bathroom.

That entire compound should be sold to shoprite and a mall made out of it.

Theatre is not a 21st century thing for a 3rd world country. It can never generate enough to maintain itself aa a Theatre. 3rd world citizens see no crime in buying pirated movies and listening to cracked version of music obtained from the Internet. They will never be delighted to pay for performing arts or see beauty in watching exhibitions in a gallery.

A thearte at Igamnu!, u must be kidding right?
What concerns toheebu or mukaila with oil-on-canvas or steel mosiac acrylic? Why would baraka be elated at the sight of the fake festac mask on display knowing fully well how much he would make to rob you at costain roundabout Outward abebe village road on your way exiting the art gallery?

Why are people shocked? Have you seen the cost of museums and other cultural institutions in the West?

No mind them, internet has turned men into nagging women and professional complainers. One minute they are moaning and bitching how there's no maintenance culture in the country and the next they are bitching over renovation of a national monument. undecided

When you approach an election year, you would see a lot of bogus project figures being bandied by the government! So after investing $100m (N58b), Emefiele plans to spend more on renovating the National Theatre.

I thought along this line too.

That money should go towards ensuring that there is permanent power supply nationwide then maybe later as the economy improves with the people having a little more money to spend on art then they can focus on Art.

With the kind mentality wey poor masses get. They ain't concerned about Art like this.

In your skewed analysis you would have made more sense if you had based your discussion on the potentials of revenue inflows the theatre could generate from those insightful proposals you made but then the hatred in you for a particular tribe and religion was brought to the fore by making particular reference to a particular religious adherents in a particular tribe as criminals whereas your homeland is permeated by those people who bear Paul, Peter and John yet form the bulk of the regiment of the nefarious unknown gunmen causing mayhem and despair to people. Perhaps the theatre should be move to that your place since unknown gunmen have better appreciation of government edifices. We will continue to point out the congenital hatred in you for the tribe that has been so accommodating to you so that people will be aware and stop taking you serious when you discuss other people. I wonder how you sleep at night with this load of hatred for people who don't care about your miserable existence.

The 1.5bn never came from Treasury or national budget..

NNPC brought in investors and partnering banks to put their money in tune of $1.5bn to fix the refinery...once done ..the profit generated will go back to them... no Kobo comes from FG..

WHAT U PUT UP THERE IS ONLY THE FG APPROVING IT AT THE FEC MEETING AS DUE PROCESS FOR ANY PROJECT TO COMMENCE..

p.s the banks took over the National theatre as part of a ppp agreement with the federal government, it is the money they put on the the table that they are using to renovate the place, no one forced them to drop anything.....pp.s Nigerian banks combined made a total of 1trillion last year, 100 million dollars is nothing.

100 million dollars is almost 6 percent of 1 trillion and you say it's nothing? Some of you have clearly never owned a business before
