nwaogukings03: Buying and paying for hotel accommodation does not spare the fact that the onus is on you. I.e you would still have to explain and demonstrate to the eco how you are able to self or have someone sponsor your trip, stay and return to your home country after your trip to and from the UK. What I think is reaccess your application, put a simple yet genuine application and hope for the best. All the best. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 8:18pm On Apr 17, 2022 |
nwaogukings03:3rd jan is fine. Eco won’t be there to know you are sponsoring the rest of the application from another account. He/she will likely make judgement from what they see Since you knew you were/are going for an exam why didn’t you just arrange everything from the beginning because I cnt tell if this other account’s complication is necessary. You have however a good reason to travel ie exam Provide all proofs of this Write a beautiful cover letter to explain your history as well as your ties and reason for travel. Someone posted a good cover letter on this thread for the sake of goin for plab 2- you can use that to serve as a guide Goodluck in all of this. |

Happy Easter All. Kindly assist me with UK airport experience like questions to be asked at entry, challenges someone might encounter, items I am eligible to carry and not to carry as a tourist, cheapest airline to book which might be a bit below 300000 and best time to book in May. Kindly help if ok to book with agency or direct airline. Is Ethiopian airline ok with their services? Also, I stated 7 days trip when applying can I stay between 13-15 days ? Is it ok to mention in my renewal I stayed 15 days due to 4 days airport shuttle i.e long flight to and fro? I booked hostel when applying but cancelled due to delay issuing visa and time passed, but i intend to stay with a sister and a friend now, will it be a problem? Any need to book few days hostel lesser than days booked on ticket and present address of sister and friend at entry or rather ignore the hostel booking? Please advise appropriately. |

Greetings lovely people. I would love to make some enquiries. I have a family member in the UK who is ready to send me an invite to come over. He doesn’t know about the process so I said I’d find out but I really have no clue how to go about it. Please can I get a list of documents required and how the letter can be written ? Also for me the applicant, what documents would I be needing and how do I start the process? Incase there is page where all these is stated please kindly indicate. Thanks. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 12:22pm On Apr 18, 2022 |
Rerin:If you mentioned having this same person on your application then it’s fine. You must however have the money you claimed you have available for the trip on you, cash will be best. Also a few days difference in length of stay is not something to be worried about. Just remember if asked at the point of entry how long you are here for, state the truth. Check wakanow and travelstart to compare prices, as for qatar airways if u get the price call the jigerian office and they will give you the naira equivalent for the chosen dates and u can pay to their naira bank accts Also know what you filled on your visa application form if this is your first time of travelling, no room for different stories. |

nwaogukings03: You can use your Nigerian Bank naira ATM/debit card to buy travel ticket online or on the web. Most banks in Nigeria limit daily online/web spending to 1 million nairas. You can as well talk to your bank for more details. Also you can go to any of the airlines offices in Nigeria to buy your ticket with nairas. My sister did this with Turkish Airlines last month. You can also buy from wakanow.com |

Please my application is at DMC, I want will the ECO search my social media like Facebook and Twitter as part of the decision making process? Reason I'm asking is cos I really do not support Ukraine's bid to join NATO & EU most especially on my Twitter. I know this may sound trivial but I'm serious. |

solid3: I know you were happy when you posted that comment on social media but now I can see the fear all over you. They do, most especially at port of entry. You guys need to be careful about your comments online on social media. I don’t think your opinion about the war will have any impact on the outcome of your UK visa application in as much as that opinion of yours is not terroristic threat(s) or support of war crime(s) In 2019 A Palestinian student from Lebanon who was set to begin his freshman year at Harvard was denied entry to the United States after immigration officials objected to his friends’ social media posts. 1 Like |

Thanks so much for your response. What you mean is it's ok not to book any hotel/hostel but rather mention the address of my relative stated in the application at point of entry. Though I mentioned I am going strictly for tourism and might not visit her. Does it matter or not due to your experience? For instance the day stated for visit had passed but chose other dates due to delay in visa issuance which I know not an issue. giselle237: |

Hello everyone, please I have few questions I need clarification. My brother was banned from the UK for submitting fake documents in February 2012. Apparently an agent he contracted messed him up and that resulted in the ban. February 2022 made it 10 years he was ban and he is trying to apply again by himself. Now this is my questions? 1. Will he disclose the ban? Since it is 10 years already. 2. Will he need an health insurance for the duration of stay? 3. Is hotel booking sufficient for proof of where he will stay in the UK? Thank you all as I await your positive response. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by leef2022: 3:53am On Apr 19, 2022 |
iamleye: But wait, you guys should allow these agents rest init...... Always the agent messed up, wasn't aware, like the wrongs always starts and ends with the agents... Ignorance is SIN.. it isnt in the bible for no reason that my people perish for lack of knowledge..... 1. If he encounters such question and it states within the last 10 years, he would have to disclose it... just to add it is safer to disclose such either ways during the application and be clean on events. 2. No. UKVI does not require travel insurance for standard visa application, as such that is optional. 3. Yes. That is sufficient. 1 Like |

iamleye:For you to still be asking question 1 is scary… a whole ban from the same country he wants to re-put an application and whether he should disclose it? 10 year ban from same country? Any application he makes to UK whether they ask him or not, he must disclose it. Pls i just saw a refusal letter, infact ECO re-denied for 2 reasons, number 1 reason was that even though the applicant had served a 10 year ban, the ECO was wondering why the applicant did not address the ban and things that led to it.. second reason was that he did not believe he was a genuine tourist. To be honest I have only seen one lady that got a TOURIST visa after a 10 yr ban. And she did not even get the visa via the application she put in after serving her ban. Her initial application was denied but it was obvious the reasons were not cogent enough as she had change in circumstances so greatly and had good financial capacity and was working with an intl organization. She made a letter of complaint to ukvi via email as she felt the reapplication was wrongly judged… she got the decision overturned that way. So in the case of your brother, he must address previous history and try to clear as much as possible and show integrity now. Thing is the deception in the file, takes a lot for them to forget. If he applies, make sure to show evidence of strong family and financial ties at home and a valid reason for visiting. If he has travelled to other countries since then, better. No application gets an automatic rejection. Each will be considered (looked into). The chances of success are very VERY small but not zero. 1 Like |

Michm:They said dnt say she is coming for childcare.. as people are paid for childcare in the UK and as such ur mom should not be coming to work or do any kind of work. U can state along the lines of your mum is coming to experience her grandchild’s birthing and to offer support to her daughter/daughter in law during this birthing process. Mention other family and emotional reasons why this is important. If you are also first time or 2nd time parents, dramatize why you need this support during the birthing process. |

Rerin: At point of entry, be calm. Be honest. Remember everything you wrote in your visa application. You might be asked any question. Just because it's your first time. Be clear on what you are there for, who you will stay with and how long you will stay. Be clear on what you do in Nigeria and ask for clarification if you don't understand any question you are asked. Pray for favour. Most people are not asked any serious question. You can carry food stuff - but make sure you wrap them very well to avoid spillage in your box. UK is not very difficult when it comes to food items. Best time to get cheap tickets is between January and April. Thereafter, tickets are expensive - except you don't mind one with a very long lag time. Prices go down in October and go up in November for Christmas. You can book direct or with credible agents. Check the prices on the airline's website first and compare with what you see on Wakanow, Ajala.ng. I have used Ethopian airlines before. They are very okay. I'm not sure if you will see any ticket for less than N300,000 now. Check, you might be lucky. The length of your stay doesn't matter as long as you don't stay beyond the expiration of your visa. You don't have to put a reason for your length of stay in your next application. You can stay with a sister or friend. I suggest you stay with your sister since you mentioned her in your application. You can always visit your friend and stay on and off. No need to book hostel. If you are asked. Be honest. Tell the officer you will stay with your sister. Please remember her address and what she does in the UK. They might ask. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 9:53am On Apr 19, 2022 |
@rerin pls if you have the money available kindly book hotel for the duration of the stay, once you finish with border control you can go ahead and cancel the booking and find your sister. You stated hotel intially. This is the option that will allow you have less palpitations at the border. You know first timer and blunders. If you insist on changing your story, I believe someone said he did that in part 4.. he got to border and said he will now be staying with his aunt, dnt know if he was asked further questions.. it is on part 4 He addressed that in his renewal application and was granted. this is all i know |
