So there is also marginalization in Benue, Nawaooo! While the over educated illiterates that came from Benue who had taken shelters in the South East are always busy running their mouth up and down every time Igbos raises the issues.. The over educated illiterates like BenueJos, Omenkaliv etc

There's marginalisation everywhere in Nigeria both at the national, state and local government levels.

The Tivs have numeric advantage over idoma and igede put together and they are not ready to relinquish power yet, the same way idoma people believe that the seat of Benue south senatorial zone is their birthright and they won't allow igede man to be senator.

The Tivs have been producing governor since 1999 and it's not fair, we want equal representation and opportunity to serve.

I appeal to the Tivs to reconsider and allow other tribes to produce governor.

I have a cordial relationship with my tiv and idoma friends and neighbours both at home and work in my state of residence, this issue of discrimination only exist more in Benue state.

We all should come together and embrace one another because outside the shores of Nigeria, nobody cares whether you are Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba or igede.
The outside world doesn't care, we carry the same image and national identity.

I think there's Something fundamentally wrong with Nigeria, say no to tribalism, nepotism and marginalisation.

Tuface is a hypocrite. So to him, it's ok for his Idoma people to dominate the Benue South senatorial seat because of their numerical advantage and not allow an Igede person become Senator but it's not ok for Tivs to continue using their own numerical strength too to perpetuate themselves as governor?

I think its this state that always have a Governor from one particular tribe, deputy Governor from one particular tribe and Speaker of the state house of assembly from one particular tribe.

Its been so since time immemorial. sad

Methinks the majority ethnic group/tribe are bullies!
You've said it all. But things need to change, marginalization and nepotism in Nigeria is one of the major problem this nation is battling with today...

Wrong. You don't start politics or governance from the top. You start dictatorship from the top. If things will change in Nigeria it must start from the local government level.
ImmaculateJOE:

Let's start from the presidency, from there States, senatorial district, Federal constituency, LGA, and Wards will follow suit.

Love the fact that you have brought this up.

Democracy is a game of numbers so the plea should not be for "TIVS" to allow you get governor.. it should be integration.

when i hear people say equity equity i realise we still play the most basic of politics - Ethnic politics which is very sad

TuBaba is asking that question on the wrong platform. He should have made the post of Facebook where most politically active Benue people are found.

By the way, he's hypocritical too. The idoma are doing to us what the Tiv are doing to the entire state.

If they really wanna have this discussion, they should first allow an Igede man to become the Senator or Minister for Zone C. When this happens, then they can have the moral platform upon which to stand and make such demands for governorship.

Oh so you understand the spirit of fairness, but you attack the Igbos at every turn and talk against an igbo man becoming the president. Hypocrite

Leave that boy oleng. Their own definition of agitation is to pick up arms and begin to kill ourselves. Even Ihiejwo that was burnt recently over the Ukpa Ibilla quarrel, folks have yet to recover fully from, but people like him want us to begin to kill ourselves because we feel politically disadvantaged.

We're wiser than that. We don't have much and will protect the little we have as a people jealously, while trying to build on it. That is the mind of Ol'igede.

Igede ka ha!

Democracy does not provide a fair playing ground, sorry. If you don't have the numbers, then your people can't be governor. That's the sad reality in different parts of the country.

Democracy should be reserved for countries without states of origin and over 700 languages. Our tribal differences automatically make us tribalists.

The Idoma should first allow Omenkas tribe Igede to be the Zone C Senator in Benue, before demanding for Governor.

As it is, Omenka can never amount to anything in Benue politics, not even just a Senator. It’s that horrible for the fellow.

He is always busy supporting Buhari grin grin

The difference is were not a people led by emotions. We aren't killing and eating ourselves because we feel we've been short changed politically. We aren't repressing the freedoms of our mothers, father's, brothers and sisters for that. We aren't burning down what little infrastructure we have in our place. We aren't going about hating everyone and crying that people hate us. We aren't cursing Tiv or Idoma people.

None of these things listed will draw us any closer to the positions we aspire to.

We might be a small tribe, but we have our wits about us. You can't say the same for yourselves, can you?

Okoro, Una no wise!
