Right now, no show. I was reviewed and told I am not a candidate for induction. I ve been on monitoring since last week and it's been so stressful.Don't want to add details yet, I don't want my post to fly to frontpage yet.i m reserving energy.

Hello mums, mummies who have had membrane sweeps done on them in their previous pregnancies should please share how it was done and how long after the sweep it took for labour to start.. my doc was telling me about having a sweep next weekend so I want to know what it entails from those who have done it.. thanks mamas

My first pregnancy
Membrane sweep on Tuesday, (the doc used his gloved finger, it was painful but bearable).
Started seeing small small bloody show same day with lots of Braxton Hicks contractions
Started having timed contractions early Thursday morning
Went to hospital only 2cm dilated
Stayed till Friday morning, slow labour.
Last last na oxytocin drip induction Friday morning at 6cm dilation to hasten labour.
Gave birth at around 10am

Bodies differ. Yours might be different.

I was 40 weeks exactly.
My antenatal was Tuesday and my Edd was Friday.
So I finally gave birth on my Edd but I'm sure it was because of the sweep cos there was no single sign of real labour before the sweep. I was actually complaining to the doc at that antenatal that I felt very heavy, he did the normal checks and said baby was well engaged and suggested a sweep, that it will help start labour, I didn't even know what a sweep was, I just agreed and he did immediately.

Sorry mama try get hubby to help massage those areas that aches u,it works oo.as for shopping make I no lie na bath set and blanket,diapers with wrapper I av bought o.laziness no allow me enter market again. I just decided to start buying the basics for now as for baby clothes DAT one till I born only bought few unisex cloths. Just start shopping small small

BIRTH STORY!! PART 1

Im sorry for sharing my bs late o.

I'll share it twice so as not to bore our mummies with long story.

2014 i had my first pregnancy it was 2months plus b4 i went to serve my mother-land in Osogbo...i wanted to experience what camp lif was but how i managed to stay in camp till a day b4 camp fire night is what baffles me till today ( i ran to d clinic in camp 2 report myself that am pregnant so they sent me home same day )

The pregnancy was a very smooth till d 7th month and d next episode was seeing myself in d hospital bed surrounded by my loved ones, i complained of severe headache in d morning to my hubby on phone cos he travelled, i also told my neighbor so it was when dey came to check on me dat d complain became worst and d next thing was seeing myself in hospital bed.
Doctor said i had PREGNANCY INDUCED HYPERTENSION that they want to do CS to bring out baby and we blantly refused o with stupid excuse of hebrew woman/nobody has done CS in our family bla bla bla....poor me!
I was naive then, so after 3days of monitoring i was discharged home and continued my normal life everything went smoothly but i ended up having still-birth cos baby was postdate.

No pregnancy till 2019 God answered me again but it ended in another stillbirth(it was a very traumatic experience for me)... I remember sharing d pregnacy journey here too.
The next challenge i had was very irregular periods and discharge from my breast, we became worried cos preggy was not happening during those time.

2021 i and hubby went to a good hospital to run tests after taking orishirishi it was discovered i have hormonal imbalance so treatment commenced immediately.
DURING THESE TRYING PERIOD HUBBY STOOD BY ME and we told God 2 give us d grace to stop worrying too much about not having another pregnancy( hubby will always sit me down and say wify stop worrying lets just have fun and live our normal lives cos God will do it when we dont expect it )

Fast forward to when i finished my hormonal medication i didn't realise i have missed my period o cos i thought it havent regularized to normal again.
I fell sick d following month thinking it was just malaria but doctor insisted i run a pregnancy test, lo and behold i was 7weeks preggy we shared tears of joy that day and d doctor really advised us to register for antenal on time.

PART 2
I was really over joyed and i registered when pregnancy was 12weeks old.
You guys know dat for every new hospital u register with they will ask u questions on your health history and d rest.

During my first antenal class d matron read through my card and told me to see their consultant gnae which i did and he wrote on d front page of my antenatal report card to always see him after closure of each antenatal class, i tried my best not to miss each appointment till i put to bed.

Apart from d normal discomfort, I had a very smooth and energetic pregnancy both in da oza room till my last trimester

My Consultant told me they will be monitoring d pregnancy till 36weeks and bring baby out because of my previous experience to avoid story, after 36wks appointment with him he told me theres no cause for alarm that everything is fine.
he told me to report to d hospital if i don't fall into labour on my edd which was on April 4th so dat i will be induced.

April 5th i carried my bag to hospital and was placed on admission to be induced d next day, but d induction failed and the doctors, midwife told me to avoid emergency case d next thing they will do for me is CS to save baby and myself.

I asked d doctor's if i could sign d papers myself cos i was alone at dat time and they responded with a big YES.... They brought d papers Immediately and after signing them i was moved to the theater for caesarien section.

Hubby was on transit to come meet me in d hospital but before he got there my baby girl was already out and was screaming so loud in d theater......i didn't know when i started sharing tears of joy that finally am now a mother!!

Baby edd was April 4th
I gave birth to my baby girl via elective cs on April 6th
Birth weight.... 3.2kg
We were dischared 3days later(mother, baby alive)
