JohnBullMySon: Mention one with Kolo Toure's rep and coaching history who would not get a chance. Lampard literally did nothing to get Derby Job. Same for Scott Parker. Like nothing. Southgate landed Middlesborough job without a coach badge in the Premier league. These can not happen to any black coach. Capital RACISM. 1 Like |

humility33: You clearly have not lived in a white dominated society in Europe or North America. You lack knowledge. Institutional and endemic racism is alive and well, it pervades all areas of society. In 2003 the NFL introduced the Rooney rule that required all NFL teams to interview for head and senior coach a black and or minority ethnic candidate. 70% of all the players in the NFL are black and yet there is only one black head coach. How many black managers are in the English league system. How many black players. Children of West African origin have s higher % achievements rate than White English upper class children at university. They have higher % of first class degrees. When the assessment is objective we win when it becomes subjective we are subjected to blatant relentless RACIAL DISCRIMINATION. As those high achievers leave university they don't get your top end jobs but the bottom end. There are exceptions but in general this is how things go. 5 Likes 1 Share |

komekn: The first two goals Napoli conceded were turnovers in their defensive third. Not a striking or pressing error, just poor defense. The last was a counter attack after they came all out to win the game. Their attack did enough by scoring two goals. The responsibility for holding that lead in the last 10 minutes fell to the defense which capitulated horrendously. Napoli seem to be the Spurs of Italy, no matter how good they play, they never win anything. Osimhen should start engaging his agent, especially with the buzz on him recently. 5 Likes |

komekn: I don't know much about the UK, but in the US (like in the NFL you mentioned) , that discrepancy is usually because of a difference in priorities between the black community and other racial communities. For example, a black NFL player is much less likely to attend schools and get coaching licenses after retirement than a white player is. Yes, there may be systemic racism on some levels, but it is extremely minimal (especially with the recent dominant ideologies in the West) compared to the real problem: the experiences, support, orientation and training of black kids is so much worse than white kids. |

komekn: The racism card shouldn't always be out go to response to every challenge that concerns black people. It's beginning to leave a very bad taste. Of course racism does exist, but most of what is referred to as "institutional racism" in the west is common practice in our climes just different expression. But for a few states, if you are not an indigene in most states you can't get an appointment there, same thing applies to government jobs. This isn't peculiar to Nigeria, you see that cut across every African state. The west like you rightly noted is dominantly white, it only makes sense that most systems and institutions will reflect that. While we should continual strive to be included, we can't pretend we do not have a bigger systemic challenge back home. If having 70% of players in the NFL isn't discriminatory to other races, how is having fewer black Coaches racism. 4 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:There are limitations everywhere You guys don’t understand office politics exists everywhere It’s extremely hard to find black vice chancellors in mainly white or mixed universities abroad even if the man would be qualified. It becomes political once you get to senior management positions. Same with top banks abroad, extremely hard to find qualified blacks appointed as CEO in multinational companies. This has nothing to do with productivity but politics. Haven’t you heard of a Nigerian doctor that operated on a foetus while still in the mother’s womb or a few Nigerians working with NASA. Whether you like it or not humans are inherently political. It’s most not solely based on merit. I have high school acquaintances with first class degrees who barely had stains of B in their WAEC(virtually more than 6 A’s) working in Microsoft, Oracle etc. in USA. They are extremely productive but they also know that there are certain positions they won’t be able to attain because of politics; solely on the basis of their skin tone In conclusion, Patrick Viera & Kolo Toure are opening doors for qualified coaches of African descent 1 Like 1 Share |

yinkeys:call it what it is you first use politics later saying they know they can't attain certain position due to their skin tone what that called Even here we are fighting tribalism because every tribe in top position will always wanna have his kingsmen dominate the top wether they merit it or not, you said black's are qualified but politics will screen them out because of their skin color baba politics don't work that way tribalism and racism does that if politics was the main cause of them not attaining that height then we shouldn't be seeing black's taking top positions, in the USA and UK political atmosphere 1 Like

Highlights of CSKA Moscow vs Dinamo Moscow. Watch from 3:00. Ejuke is very quick. Ejuke is an intelligent player. He scored because he placed the ball at the goalkeeper's weaker side, whereas his teammates were shooting to the right of the goalkeeper where the goalkeeper has shown to make more quick and stronger dives. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wIcc8kPeBg 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Just recently, there was a protest in a federal university in Oyo state. Surprisingly the VC is from the state, the protest was cause he isn't from a particular part of the state. Can we just stop being hypocritical? Can we stop throwing the racism card at everything especially when we have a semblance of it at home? England has a 3.5% black population, the other part of UK has less than 1% yet it's widely said that you rarely go to a UK hospital and not find a black medical practitioner. If we achieved all this by merit can we just assume we probably don't have a black football coach who can compete at the highest level yet. What exactly have black coaches achieved with African football? Don't we still clamour for foreign coaches? No black nation has gotten to the semi final of the world cup yet, and the highest we've achieved at the world cup as being when a foreign coach was in charge. Of course I know racism exist, would be insane to deny that, but it's rather hypocritical to scream racism at people who are doing the most to be inclusive. An average Nigerian has a better chance at success in the "racist" UK than he does in his homeland. Can we just look inwards and not throw the race card every chance we get. Most sport franchise are private entities. Capitalist tendencies trumps personal preferences at the end of the day. It's the reason we have more black players on the NFL and the NBA, they are simply better. While we may have few experiences of racism to make reference to, most employers will hire a competent black coach of they find one. It's all about the money at the end of the day. BTW, if Kolo Toure is more qualified, he has 52 African countries to prove it with. 9 Likes 1 Share |

lovewins: Nice chat but still over the place. Anyone who knows my history here will attest that I strictly stand by the merit principle in everything. That is why I will prefer a young promising striker who has high quality over an experienced player the youngster will achieve more. That is why I doff my hat to Enrique who was prepared to give chances to high-quality youngsters like Pedri and Gavi over some experienced players Enrique believed the youngsters are better than. So telling me of a protest in Nigeria based on tribal bias, does not in any way counter my point. My best Nigerian coach in the history of my watching is Musa Abdullahi. He is a Northerner, while I am a Southerner. My best talent Developer is Coach Monday Sinclair. He is from Bayelsa. I threw my weight behind Amunike, even though he is Igbo. I love Kashimawo Laloko even though he is from Oyo. I do not see where you are from but what you bring to the table. 3 Likes 1 Share |

lovewins: There was a season when Alex Ferguson was still coaching Manchester United. He won the league and was awarded the coach of the season. The person in the Championship who won the league was awarded the Championship Manager of the season. The person that won League one was awarded the League one Manager of the month. However, the black man who won League Two, he even won the league two trophy that season, PAUL INCE, was not given the League two manager of the season. They gave it to the black man that came second. That was pure racism and screams the hinderances black coaches face. 1 Like 1 Share |
