One movie and 2 series episodes per day is what you call "hardly watch"?. There are people who watch movies just once per week. For me, I can go two weeks without watching a single movie

That's not good, is it? Budget is 90 mil. It'd take a miracle to break even now, which is a real shame because Eggers' talent deserves recognition.

What are these people and countries afraid of? It's as if many of these people are closet gay but don't want the rest of the world to know, so they overcompensate. Like, I'm not gay, but that doesn't mean I hate gay people. The way they choose to live their lives has no influence on me. Seriously, why do people care so much??

Not good at all. Man's a brilliant filmmaker and deserves better. I'm not even sure if this movie will even hit $120mn globally.
I actually thought it'd do up to $180-200mn worldwide.
Word of mouth is good but I ain't sure if general audience is hyped enough to turn up for it. Peeps seem more relaxed to wait for streaming release than to watch it in theaters.

It continues to reinforce the trend: Adult dramas seems dead in North America.

Moviegoers are calling it an art house film with meandering dialogue and surreal elements. This could explain why it isn't performing well. Hopefully, it recoups its money on VOD, streaming, or wherever it ends up.

Can we all agree the storyline for the ambulance movie was so poor, from the poorly planned heist..
One was even wearing birken stock slippers to a heist…
I mean why go through the stress of bringing in six people for the heist when you were gonna kill off their characters so early
Look at the way they even died, the Birkenstock slipper guy was knocked down by his own driver lmao
Poorly scripted plot I must say.
Just the car chase scene was the highlight of the movie
Cinematography wasn’t bad either.
it's a simple heist fun movie...
Were you expecting GOT level plot or what?

This is why I always say you don't review all movies the same way...
No one watched that movie and was expecting one complex plot or anything...the movie was meant to be fun and enjoyable...and that's what it delivered...

all these gay characters and scenes in movies piss me off so much...
I always fast-forward...

So I understand why they keep getting banned... Hollywood wants to force their inclusion nonsense into other countries...so they'll keep getting banned or an edited version deleting the gay scenes will be used

The Batman (2022) 9/10
Director: Matt Reeves

I haven't had a good noir film in a while, so Matt Reeves' vision of the Caped Crusader was most welcome.
Pattinson aced his first outing as the World's Greatest Detective (which he's not yet, as of this movie, but will eventually grow into) and I'm really hoping for sequels soon for him to follow up this performance.
I have such a Jeffrey Wright bias, I'm not even going to bother praising his performance. I hope to see his Gordon explored more in future movies.
Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman while possessing her sensuality lacked her experienced guile and ruthlessness which leads me to believe that, just like Pattinson's Batman, she's also in the early years of her being Catwoman.
Colin Farrell impressed enough as The Penguin to have me looking forward to his television series. Extra points if Gordon features there, as well.
And, of course, Paul Dano who was absolutely unnerving in his portrayal of Riddler as an anarchist psychopath.

Long runtimes are completely dependent on their pacing and Reeves does a really great job here immersing you into the story, that on the rare occasion you check the time, you're amazed at how much time has passed. There's not much filler and he doesn't let the scenes drag before moving forward.

Michael Giacchino is gunning for Hans Zimmer's throne and I say he has a clear shot. Hoping he comes back for the sequels and grows the sound to more epic levels till we get something akin to or surpassing Arachnoverture.

It was a great outing for The Bat at the end of the day, showing his first transformation from a creature of vengeance to becoming a beacon of hope while leaving many paths yet to be explored in the future.

I think the government is trying to protect the cinema. Predominantly Muslim countries have some of the most intolerant people in the world. They may burn down the whole cinema if they see such scenes in a movie.

comic book is not a series or a movie...
You don't just pick any character and give them their own series just cos fans liked their performance in the movie...

you continue to prove my point. You don't know how comicbook works, or showbiz for that matter.

SOZINN:

I've not seen the movie but if what you have written here is true then this is a stupid adaptation of the character. Batman was trained by Raals Al Ghul, one of the greatest villains to grace the DC universe. I'm not saying the training is supposed to make him invisible but it's only common sense to think that batman would not be having trouble taking down regular street urchins. If he meets an equally trained villain that matches his skills then that is another story.

I saw him in the trailer walking like superman in front of gun welding bad guys. I just smacked my forehead in disappointment. Like, even if batman had a bulletproof suit, that's not how he operates. He operates know stealth mode, WTF are they doing?

Before the movie was released, Reeves made it known that this is a young Batman that's just in his second year of crime fighting... he's totally different from the seasoned Batman of Affleck

Careful! Our muslim brethren here won't like this. It's not like it's only muslim countries that have intolerant and homophobic people. Many so called secular countries practice systemic and religious racism in that they casually oppress minorities, muslims and the LGBT.

The world is a fucked_up place. In a perfect world, we will all get along, but this is not a perfect world and we'll have our flaws.
