You are just overstretching the meaning of foster to fit into Toke's narrative. Foster does not apply in this case at all. Foster parenting occurs where there is a foster care system, in which the government places a child in the care in the care of someone else outsides it's biological patents.

Toke's case fits into the typical African Traditional system whereby a family member automatically takes up the care and upkeep of their nieces, nephews and cousins in the absence (and even sometimes presence) of their biological parents. It will be an insult to refer to Mrs Esther Akinyelure as a foster parent of her sister's daughter. Toke's younger brother that came with her at the same time had never referred to the Akinyelures as his foster parents. There is also another nephew that was raised by Mrs Esther Akinyelure and he is doing very well. He can never refer to Mrs Akinyelure as his foster mother. That would be an insult.

I know Toke is chasing clout. The Akinyelures are a very private family. They hate any form of publicity. Chief Pius Akinyelure is very introverted, he hates his name appearing in the media not to talk of social media. It's was his biological children and grandchildren that organized the closed family Dubai birthday for their father, as he was not ready for any sort of celebrations.

I agree with you.
I made that argument because we are discussing using the foreign language called English, hence we should stick with it's definition of who foster parents are irregardless of the relationship between the foster parent and benefactor.

If we decide to go by your explanation (viewing it from the traditional POV), our tradition and culture is so rich that it has its own peculiar words and explanation that effectively captures an uncle or aunt for taking care of nieces and nephews.. I benefited from such.
Yes, you're right that they are indeed a private family. Baba has more than one wife, he has helped many people but Toke is the loudest among them all. I do not concern myself much about the wives, my relationship is directly to him.
However, There wouldn't be much need to continue to overstretch this discussion.
Baba's life deserve the privacy it desires.
