And it is hindering the birds from eating well and also affected their sight... Any help or med that will be very effective please??

Those are indeed the symptoms and one is dead already from this ailment.. Please, any effective med for it??

UPDATE : The Chicken survived the sickness and is alive and healthy now since first week of June Just thought of updating you guys now.. Could have sent pics, but it's night now, maybe some other time..
The only issue is that other birds are really picking on this particular bird, probably because it has been on isolation for too long, like weeks... The bird is so fearful and can't stand staying in the midst of others.. I'll just continue keeping it separate since others are always beating it.

Thanks for all you shared... The method I mostly used was rubbing the affected areas with palm oil yes, palm oil and some antibiotics... Thank God it worked and the bird didn't die from the sickness even though we all at home gave up on the bird na original okuko igbo, onyili onwu

There are only vaccines but not really available for chickens ,they administer such for serious birds lol

Method of treatments include antibiotics ,iondine to help in healing of the lesions
,vitamin A etc
But that does very little as eminent death results from aves with APV .

Chickens are often infected if your poultry environment is dirty ie stagnant water breeding mosquitoes .

It's best you dispose the remaining birds and decontaminate .then improve on hygiene

I think there are no enough details for proper diagnosis like outset, how it progressed etc because this is a pictorial examination. All I see is the infammation of the supraorbital nerves .This could be manifestations of fowl pox, infectious coryza etc but our focus should be on joint infections.

Sulfanamides will work well, get a drug called TRIPLE SULPHA (it is milk like and in a sachet) in your local vet store, use as instructed on the label

A mucolytic agent too will be good to clear off the clogged respiratory tract and to make the antibiotics penetrate well into their body tissues. Bromhexine + aminoglycosides antibiotics (get Reo-Pox) from your local vet store use as instructed on the label.

Triple sulpha from 6am to 3pm, withdraw the med, give feed from 3pm to 5pm, give the Reo-pox from 5pm to 5am the following day. Provide light and feed for night feeding.
