This is like sticking it in the wrong hole. The objective of enjoyment will still happen. I honestly forgot there was an assigned inlet for pouring oil.
Haaa..!

Haha

That would have taken forever to pour the whole engine oil inside the engine.

It won't affect your car but its just so dumb to pour oil through the dip stick hole.

Just drain all the oil and do it the proper way.
Re: Help! My Mechanic Changed Engine Oil Through Dipstick. by nextstep(m): 4:23am On May 16, 2022
Er... the reason it's called an oil change is that you change the oil. It's not called an oil top up, as if you're adding petrol, wiper fluid, or even coolant. Your engine needs fresh oil, and should not be recycling old oil. BTW, did they charge you for a full oil change, as in a few liters of the new oil?

You want to return to the mechanic and have them change that oil for you properly. Where did the old oil go?

Or am I just reading it wrong, and they drained the old oil, but instead of using the normal filling inlet, he used the dipstick?

My take is that he probably sucked out the old oil via the dipstick which is how I do it. Filling through the dipstick is impractical.

BTW, I read a lot of things up there that made me shake my head.

No worries owner of car. Pouring the oil through the dipstick hole or the engine oil compactment is the same provided he poured in engine oil and not any other oil. Your car will still run smoothly. What about Automatic Transmission fluid that is poured through the dipstick? Enjoy the new discovery. What if the engine oil compactment cap cover wasn't opening and the boy tried the dipstick to help solve the proplem will you be this worried?

Greetings everyone. Please I am writing this with a worried heart. I left my car with my mechanic to change oil and left to buy some other things for the car servicing. Coming back, behold I found my mechanic ( he's boy actually) pouring the engine oil through the dipstick! I almost collapsed. Though I drove the car home with no issues, I'm still very worried. Would this cause any damage to the engine?

Thanks and appreciate your response.
it has no negative effect tho but how long will he pour oil through that tiny hole when he can easily pour it through the cap, is the boy normal at all?

I think the act is counterproductive as it will consume more time why not open the engine top and pour in from there seeing that sef I may think he did not remove the oil filter or did he also drained the oil through the dipstick pipe?

Perhaps the car’s engine room is so sophisticated that he does not know where supposed oil inlet is.

Most of these mechanics na junkies

I didnt want to comment but seeing yours, I had to say something... Now lets look at this this way...

Just to pour oil into the engine.

Mecho's Way.
Use the dipstick to guide the oil into the engine. though slow. No other job needed

Your way.
Use a funnel I would say to pass the oil.
You will invest into buying a funnel
Buy soap to wash it
use water in washing
and put attention into where it is being dried...

Why didn't you ask him the reason for pouring the oil through the dip? Let's hear his reason(s) too.

He drained the oil by sucking it from the dipstick with his mouth... Genius

Teejaydswagger:
Firstly… how did he remove the formal oil from the engine. Because he needs to remove the oil before replacing another

Ok good you now talking about Time and cost.

In the first place the reason you have workshop tools is to make your job faster and easier so if funnel should be amongst your other workshop tools then it adds to enable you work faster and better...Kindly note that the funnel like other tools are not one time use tools (non one time disposables) it can be used and reused even for other purposes.
Besides it makes the job delivered faster without unnecessary spills.

To make work easier in a workshop setting, always use the right tools.

Buy soap to wash it
use water in washing
and put attention into where it is being dried...

You are supposed to take proper care of your tools in the first place so why not for the funnel? thats part of the servicing costs which should be added to the bill for the customer.

Well this is for those workshops that consider best practice not some road side mechanics.

Just like in insemination, the only aim is to get the semen in; either through a syringe, a tube or straight from the preek.
There's no difference between a normally ejaculated baby and an artificially inseminated one.

So as long as he changed the oil filter, you shouldn't be bothered how the new oil got into into the engine.
Your mouth is only full of talking about sex, preek, vaginas, etc you are always yarning kulikuli analysis angry

People still carry their cars to mechanic for ordinary servicing ? The firsr day I took my car to a mechanic for servicing that was the last time I ever took my car for just servicing any other technical problem beyond my power mechanic will do .

Dont think there is a problem with that.
Only issue is that you should not raise the engine until the oil circulates.

It is not something overly drastic,
Just make sure you keep an eye on your oil level as often as possible if you have a leak.

Who asked you?

When you notice undue oil shortage, drain it and pour it back into the correct inlet. Nothing will happen to your engine.

There wont any issue. But I am sure there will be spillage. Just ensure you clean it.

That's not a very easy thing to do. Very skilled bwoy. You have nothing to worry about as long as your car got home without issue. Check your oil level this morning, if on the right level then you and yours are good.

Inasmuch as the oil enters into the engine block there's no cause for alarm
