Next step is bus stops. Punish any yellow bus picking up people away from a busstop and any passengers not waiting at a busstop. 2 Likes |

kettykings: Yo are a stranger to this State and cruel in your manners! How you failed to acknowledged that an innocent soul- a Sound Engineer died because the Okada people business is now an all comers affairs- they hardly obeyed traffic rules, even when others are doing so, they are accidents prone, they have become nuisance,we have been robbed many times when two or more will carry out nefarious activities together and dashed away! Besides, who are the riders,as their Identity shows most of them comes from Mali, Niger,Chad,Lake-Chard, Benininose and Northern parts of Nigeria, etc, because the borders never closed and they just moved into the Country! Does it mean these riders don't have Country or States or just because Nigeria can't organised herself,so they take laws into their hands! That man that died in Lekki is an expert, would you make him an Engineer, even if he is born today! Have you been to other parts of the World, where Okada and Keke-Nappep ( Mawa) are being operated- eg India, they are the first to obey the traffic laws and que up to ensure their is dignity in Okada business Operations! But this is not so in Nigeria and worst in Lagos State! Many criminals are now operating this business without restraint and many thousands have gone through Hospitals( go to Igbobi-Arthoepadic Hospital and local bones repairs doctors),due to their reckless driving without the State benefiting from their activities! However,he problems with the Sanwo-Olu's ban is that many of those operators will soon migrate to the Local Areas where they are not banned, meaning,we are still going back to the same thing- the Okadas are not really banned and the govt should also provide alternative means of Transportation for ease of people's movement. This should be a consistently planned actions by the State government, after due assessments! God bless Lagos State! |

Bluntemperor: I am not in support of okada I am wholly in support of the ban . My problem is the harassment of passengers who might not know where okada is banned and where it is not. The Nigerian police will cash in on this and extort innocent people, I have had to bail out a lot of people from police because of the latest Lagos traffic laws |

Maxymilliano: If this write up is true? it shows that our police men have failed us and you can't win the case on passengers in Court. You are dragging passengers to this because you want to set Lagos on fire. What is stopping you from arresting the okada rides?. What provisions have you made for passengers? For instant visitors in Lagos I mean someone coming to Lagos newly without the knowledge of okada ban will be arrested if cought. I think this police officers that said this should resign they want to cause civil unrest in Lagos and accuse the Gov. |

kettykings: Pls dont be ignorant of the happenings around. The abokis are gradually outnumbering us in the guise of okada riding. Evil is lurking everywhere and might strike soon. These people are in all corners even to the inner most of ipaja, ikola and every other outskirts you can think of. They go about with small weapons under their seats, who knows what they have in their closets in preparation for war. Take time to go round and see their clusters growing in geometrical progression 3 Likes |

cocolacec: Banning okoda won't solve anything and is counterproductive. it better to regulate them. Bad roads all over lagos. No proper road networks. Crazy and ridiculous constriction work going on simultaneously causing multiple artificial traffic all over the city. Very useless and inept government that doesn't think b4 they act. |

The real truth could be either ways: the guy may have been a yahoo guy or he was innocent. But when one is so used to mobbing people whenever there's dispute without seeking mutual ways of settling issues between agrieved parties, it's definitely a recipe for destruction. The excesses of the okada riders and especially the recklessness of the northerners among them put them up for this. It's also important to note, this mob action isn't peculiar to bike riders and the hausas as you may have observed in marketplaces dominated by one group like Ladipo and Alaba international markets. Traders deliberately sell bad and inferior products to consumers and hide under the blanket of the cover of the presence of concentration of people of their ethnic origin in that market. These markets are so notorious for this. Everyone should conduct themselves in a way to foster friendliness and good neighbor relationship among us as a people. 2 Likes |

Litmus: Land means nothing in a place that is not developing. I have seen places with the same value after decades have passed Especially civil service states where the middle class is stagnant. |

Fairmedia: Indeed. And if you're going to leave your village and go to the city, be ready to adapt as best as you can instead of going there to complain day and night. When I was young, my family were in unquestionable porverty, we lived in shame because we believed we could do better and we were failing because of our inabilities. But now so called poor people seem to swagger in their role as poor and wallow in belief of what they feel they are entitled to get from the state but are not getting because they don't live in London. It's so frustrating. Clear roads, you can't because poor people are entitled to jobs; clear slums, you can't because poor people are entitled to live there since the state did not build them homes; develop the space industry, you can't because poor people are entitled to first consideration; clear the roadside of sharks and all sort of junk construct, you can't because poor people stay in these places to sell things; toll roads to generate cash necessary to maintain the roads, you can't because poor people can't afford to pay even though they can afford cars; enforce road laws and cleaning, you can't because poor people need places to shit and piss since the state did not provide them toilet Man no go hear word for the poor and their wahala. They are in the North East slaughtering and in the East killing all in the name of We are poor! 2 Likes |
