Dinner:

Tried Oha soup for the first time using dried Oha leaves. Pounded yam and Oha soup for the win.

How's the dried Oha leaves? Did it turn out well in the soup? I have dried oha leaves but am skeptical about using it since I was trained with fresh Oha leaves. Descarado, any idea?

Seems you are used to poorly
prepared cow leg or cow tail pepper soup.

If well prepared, the broth always
thickens due to the gelatine .

Jollof spaghetti (I made this with tinned tomatoes and barbecue sauce ketchup), barbecue chicken, boiled eggs and Mackerel with a chilled RedBull to wash it down kiss

I think NL reduces photo quality though undecided

Those package dried vegetables ummm

I bought ugwu/ugu na soso long strands of hair full inside.

After sorting through it, I boiled super hot water with the kettle whistling to high heavens, soaked it, come see all the hairs that were hidden among the twisted leaf undecided Not too keen on dried leaf now.

No bother too much with dried leaf unless you trust the seller and can return the dried leaf for a refund.

Fresh oha will always be premium.
I’ve used dried one before personally prepped by my grandma and my mom brought it to me. Honestly It was okay. I feel like the store bought ones might even be less quality or maybe full of sand or something. It can suffix when fresh one is impossible to find. But the flavor isn’t equal. You just have to add enough orishirishi to make up for the dryness

I’ve bought dried ukazi before and it was full of sand. Had to soak and resoak. But I found that website I showed you a while ago and their dried vegetables are clean. It’s either them or I use the prepped by a family member

First of all this looks very good

But oh man your first time trying oha should be in the village made by a grandma with uziza leafs and stockfish. After that, nothing will measure up.

Thanks sis. I still order from them sometimes. Uziza leaf is okay. To clean, I just soaked in super hot water thrice or more etc

Ugu, not so good. .sand and hairs were many. I can work the sand...but not hairs. I threw it away. Maybe how it was dried...wind blowing stuff into it.
