Yes, that's the normal range of voltage in Nigeria.

Good evening sirs

I am making a decision to buy a generator;

1. Will a 1.8kva power my fridge (Features in the picture) fridge. That's all I need to power for now
2. Can anyone recommend stores where I can get key start generators around Ejigbo?

Please I'll appreciate your advise on a durable, pocket friendly generator to buy. I see a lot of recommendations around thermocool and fireman but they seem to be pricey.

1.8kva is about 1.5kw, yes..it should power a 70watts, 0.55amps fridge. Once the gen is in good shape. The fridge and all motor based appliance draw upto x6 of their current rating at startup. For 10secs. So i believe your 1.5kw gen would power it easy peasy

Hello gurus, can the Bobo Thermocool 2800 ES carry a 160l fridge or do I just go for the Hustler 3.75kva?

Also, is the blue Optima 2800ES truly manual/recoil start or is it electric/switch start?

Thanks.

Thanks boss, so far it’s working fine and I think this product should be above Elepaq constant. I have used like 5 Elepaq constant and I always notice my bulbs blinking but not with kemage. Low noise and very powerful. Let’s see how it goes for the next 2 weeks

Hello. Can you give an updated review on this now?
Thanks.

The best? One of the best in the Nigerian market is a better way to put it. If you misuse any generator no matter the brand, same thing will happen.

Greetings house,

I intend getting a TEC (Haier thermocool) generator online, konga precisely since thermocool's showroom is quite a distance from my present location. Konga offers me a home delivery and price is less than what the physical showroom has to offer. Is a a wise thing to do?

Kindly advise..

Generally not a good idea to buy generators online. If you must go ahead, call their customer care line so you can send them the serial number to confirm its genuine.

you must have abused the gen, and being economical with the truth...your engine needs an overhaul, and based on the skill of the local repairmen, the gen will never be the same again.......compare cost of the overhaul vs buying a new gen...and make an informed decision

what kills gens
1. overloading the gen
2. not maintaining good oil change intervals
3. using fake/substandard oil
4. not replacing the oil after running for 10 to 20hrs on first use--when you bought the gen new.

in your case, likely items 2 to 4

Sorry, I made a mistake, there's no electric start for this. The picture they used for the advert is misleading.

Just confirmed that there's electric start for it, you'll need to go to their stores to see it. The picture you posted confirms it but their website is saying otherwise.
The Es in the model name confirms its electric start. Their website nor get head.

Just seeing this...

I also just ordered for the thermocool bobo 2800ES from jumia express. It's currently not in the thermocool store and several other vendors I checked with. I however called their customer care to confirm it's availability before processing the order.

I'm hoping I made the right call. I needed a generator urgently and it seemed like a good fit.

Good evening prof and all other experienced fellow here.

Just need a sincere advice to my question.

My Gen(Lutian 2.5kva) has developed all kinds of engine related problems thereby giving me an impression of wasting money in terms of repairs. Ots either valve today, or carburettor. Currently it shortens oil and I have been consistently repairing it even after ringing it months ago.

A street GEN engineer(repairer) wants to sell an half engine to me for 20k. He said the engine was removed out of a GEN with bad coil.

Should I risk buying the half engine from him or I rather buy tokunbo(new engine) or I rather safe up expediently for a new GEN.

Note; my current GEN coil has not been worked on before safe changing of AVR and brush sometimes ago.

Half engine for 1.8kva is currently far above 20k let alone for 2.5kva. Better to count your loss and get a new generator before dem take you shine again.
