I've always been sympathetic to the course of the Igbos, back when they took non-violent stands and approached issues tactfully.

But over the last one year, some of us have indeed come to realise that the present crop of young Igbo men and women are just plain hateful while they most often than not, play the victim mentality.

This stand has been further reinforced by the activities and roles Igbo political leaders have played since the beginning of this year. It is no longer news that a great percentage of countrymen and women all echoed the need for the leadership reins of this country to be zoned to the South East in the spirit of fairness and equity. But how did the Igbo elites respond to this?

Some of them outrightly sabotaged their own region by deciding to support politicians of other regions.

Others simply chickened out at one point or the other when faced by opponents of other extractions as if they actually believed they were not supposed to face any competition in a country as diverse as Nigeria.

Then their youths made it a point of duty to jump from one social media platform to the other, brandishing threats, blackmail, insults, violent tendencies all in a bid to coerce the rest of the country to put the Presidency at their doorstep, as if that has ever been done in a democracy. Instead of them to have called townhall meetings across the five states of the region, laid down grassroot principles and decisions, worked along equitable distribution of interests in their own collective gain so they could come out and convince the rest of the Nigerian electorates with one voice, they rather preferred to stoke up sentiments and hatred, only for them to now wake up to play the victim card. They have politicians in all political parties in the country, yet the Igbos couldn't speak with one voice and when their best bet (Peter Obi) felt a bit of resistance to his ambition, he abandoned a party that the whole Igbo region has worked with for over 2 decades and their online reprobates were quick to resort to their usual violent tirades.

You all can quote me as usual to trash talk, but my dear Igbo brothers: You are your own problems!
