I know highlight can be flattering but this guy is good. And there is Maguire raking up millions for playing rubbish grin grin
I think he should be invited sha...

If he was so outstandingly good why is he still playing in Israel.

These are facts that cannot be hidden

Add to that this league is a very low level league it makes players look good but in a better league they may become lost.

Is he the best or one of the best CB in that low level league ❓

He was in the backwaters of Europe playing in Norway for a good 3/4 years before ending up in Israel. That's not great pedigree.

Honestly, I think we should forget about scorelines at the moment and focus on gameplay. I saw a lot of positives in the game.

I commend Peseiro for trying to have the team pass the ball out from the back. Unlike the ballooning galore we had before. All we need now are decent technical CMs/DMs and the soup is ready grin.

By the way, Ecuador played on home ground yesterday. It seemed the whole of South America came to cheer those guys.

I never knew they had so many immigrants in America o. Wow.

The Mexico that beat us on Sunday got whooped 3-0 by Uruguay today. We are so far behind.

Going forward, we will need to make difficult choices. Ekong is not good enough, simple. We need to find a good CB or two along with Ajayi who is decent but not spectacular.

Moffi should forget about the National team in the near future. The competition is just so much better.

Dessers is good, but I don't think he can displace any of Osimhen, Sadiq, Awoniyi in that order when it comes to quality. When the guys arrive, he will find it difficult to get any gametime, though he may probably still be in the team.

Iwobi and Aribo can man that midfield. We just need an Ndidi back, or at least an Onyeka. I feel like this game was the best I've seen of Iwobi creatively in the SE, my guy gave at least 3 delicious through passes Moffi and Dessers squandered.

Simon is simply not good enough. He is not consistent, you don't know what you get from him. Also, he loses the ball way too much.

3-5-2 might work with Osimhen from what I saw today. If we had an Osi and say an Awo/Sadiq pair today, we might be seeing a different result. I was happy we created a lot of chances against a decent side, our bane in the past few years has been creating enough chances.

Overall we need to be more precise in our play. We have players who are good on the ball, so we need to play the ball on the ground and pass our way to our opponents' goal.

Dessers will retire Sadiq and Sadiq is not better than Awoniyi. Your order of preference is flawed.

If Dessers played in the low level slow and laboured Segunda Division he would probably be top scorer in the league with at least 20 goals+

I goal in 2 games from a goalkeeping error on the Mexican GK part

Abeg, these boys na carpenters

At this point, it ain't coaching alone...I think we have overrated these guys beyond their actual abilities

Make una forget....

It will take 10 years of total rebuild to get our football back on track. Hiring and firing foreign coaches isn't the way when your local league is in shambles and there's no template for grassroots development

ekong needs serious competition in the team and balogun should be allowed to retire

If I were to be peseiro I will blood in younger center backs that will lead the team in the nearest future. The likes of akpoguma, osaze, bassey, ozonwafor etc should be the center backs to choose from going forward with an eye on the future. I believe before the end of next season more players will emerge in europe which will widen our pool the more

I said it here before that Ekong should just go to Stanbic Ibtc pensions and collect his retirement levy, rather someone here was of the opinion that he had a good game against mexico

Yes, our CB needs overhaul

When I talk about bassey here many see it that he is hyped because he’s foreign born cheesy

We are blessed and lucky to have this kid in our ranks. He reminds me of a young taribo west then in his first European club which is auxerre in ligue 1

I bet you guys if bassey moves to the epl as rumored he will only spend 2 seasons with a mid table club before being snapped up by any of the top 6 clubs

As for this home based training cones we carry go US, it’s high time the nff and 9ja egunje coaches stop wasting taxpayers money on carpenters. Even that opportunity and privilege would hv been given to few of the U20 lads that did well in niger inorder to sharpen their skills and exposure

cheesy grin

What do you expect fr a carpenter? Unpolished football of course

Moses Simon needs to tell us who he is bribing to remain in the national team. He is t even good enough for the bench

I'm of the opinion that VIC MO could offer our attacks good options.... whether we like it or not, we still need him

Painful loss tbh

It's going to be hard from now

I had this series in 6 but now I'm very sure it's going to 7 games if GSW man up or 5 games if Celtics get more brutal

Either way,GSW Bleep up

Well said!!!
To me, Balogun has performed well in recent times compared to Ekong

Seems some officials have an issue with Akpoguma because of some scenes pre- Afcon.

I hope they extend invitations to the younger center backs subsequently.
ekong needs serious competition in the team and balogun should be allowed to retire

I must also had that our defense leaves too many spaces .....just too much space
Ekong can't marshal a defense......he is just not good enough

Otherwise, the boys tried apart from wasted chances

so true. I never knew eagles can pass so efficiently from the back. In fact at a point Ecuador couldn't pass from the back. Our guys were pressing them and closing up spaces. To be fair the scoreline is not a true reflection of what happened yesterday. Nice one peserio

Honestly speaking, the boys played well in the 2nd halves of both matches. I wasn't expecting them to beat Ecuador, I just wanted them to play well with promise and they did just that.

They'll get better with time.

Dis statement of dey will get better. With time sounds like a scam to me....70percent of dis team have been playing together for d past 7years,for aw long will dey keep rebuilding and get better?

I'm only making hopeful predictions based on the improved performances in the second halves of both games. What would you rather have me say? That they'll keep on losing?
No now.

Everyone knows that Peseiro is not a grade A coach but that won't make me condemn him after his first two matches. Friendly games for that matter. One this is certain though, he's definitely a better match reader than Eguavoen. The second half performances prove this.

The first game would have been a draw if not for Ekong's own goal. We would have won the second game if we hadn't missed chance upon chance upon chance.

I saw Iwobi and Dessers build some sort of understanding; Bassey's crosses were sublime, Aina was impressive.

Talking about the negatives, we already know who and who should be sent to the bench henceforth.

Moffi
Bassey
Dessers
Dennis
Ishaq Rafiu
S. Faisal
V. C. Mbaoma

These guys are new to the squad

If we ever play 3-5-2
The starters upfront would be iheanacho & Osihmen
My prediction for next Afcon once we qualify
You’d see.
There’s no starter on this list besides Bassey

He kept ghosting past Guinea Bissau and Sudan players at Afcon and we thought he was all that special, just look at how Mexico and Ecuador exposed him. I don't think he is bribing anyone but his play and crosses have been hopeless.

Two corners/crosses from Aribo were more threatening to Ecuador that the nonsense he kept dishing our.

Is Awaziem really a RB or he’s been played out of position
Goals have been leaking from that end of our team in the last four to five losses.
