Honestly speaking, the boys played well in the 2nd halves of both matches. I wasn't expecting them to beat Ecuador, I just wanted them to play well with promise and they did just that.

They'll get better with time.
Cool baba,Nigeria losing to Ecuador shows that we still have a lot to do,irrespective of players we paraded.....I remember a makeshift SE team beat France in a friendly in Paris. We can't really say much on Peseiro now but he already lost two matches as eagles gaffer, let's see what he has to offer during Afcon qualifier.....Good to see guys talking about how eagles played than talking about losing, seems there is positivity in Peseiro style of play, hope he will delivered.

I will not really talk much about the outcome of the friendlies cos we last won a friendly match in 2019 against Egypt.Peseiro should be aware that Nigerians don't joke with results, hence he need to act fast and bring the winning mentality back into the team.

Former Nigeria U23 invitee Osaze Urhoghide faces an uncertain future at club level ahead of the start of pre-season preparations.

The Glasgow Celtic central defender joined KV Oostende in the January transfer window in search of regular game time after struggling for minutes following his celebrated move to the Hoops from Sheffield Wednesday last summer.

KVO also negotiated a purchase option in the loan deal bringing him to the Belgian Pro League outfit, but the club's Chief Executive Gauthier Ganaye has suggested that they have a faint hope of signing him on a permanent basis if Celtic do not lower their asking price for the 21-year-old.

Although he had a debut to forget as he was played out of position, overall, the Anglo-Dutch-Nigerian starlet has done enough to earn himself a permanent contract, going the distance in the last six matches played by KVO in 2021-2022 and helping them post two shutouts in those games.

"Urhoghide made a positive impression and is an added value for the team, but his price tag is too high for the time being," Ganaye said to KW via Daily Record.

Urhoghide has four years left on his contract with the Scottish Premiership champions, for whom he has made only one first team appearance and it came in a dead rubber Europa League clash vs Real Betis in December 2021.

Well Peseiro didn't select the players, his appointment was done after the squad had been announced by NFF.

Some of the carpenters in the team weren't selected by him.

Everyone knows that Peseiro is not a grade A coach but that won't make me condemn him after his first two matches. Friendly games for that matter. One this is certain though, he's definitely a better match reader than Eguavoen. The second half performances prove this.

The first game would have been a draw if not for Ekong's own goal. We would have won the second game if we hadn't missed chance upon chance upon chance.

Cool baba, too early to compare Peseiro to any ex eagles coaches even Eguavoen....after Rohr exit,Eguavoen came in and beat Egypt in his first match and won all his three games in a group with accolades coming from all quarters even here but losing to Tunisia brought questions on his tactics and remember just a mistake from Maduka cost us so Ekong mistake against Mexico should not be an excused and "IF" we hadn't missed chances against Ecuador should not be the point....Good that some here including you see positives in Peseiro style and hope to see him doing the needful in our subsequent matches.

Yes Karl, nobody expected him to select the players cos he is new.I remember Sebastian Broderick selected Nigeria Algiers 90 squad cos Westerhoff was new but good to see guys talking about eagles playing good football against Mexico and Ecuador.....with times hope to see rising eagles under Peseiro.

I said 'better match reader', not 'better coach'. Big difference. The qualifiers will tell if he's a better coach or not.

Did you watch the games?

Yes from Tunisia match till date,we have conceded five goals but I can tell you three out of five goals conceded are avoidable,Uzoho,Okoye fumbling and Ekong own goal.... Peseiro need to work on this cos such mistakes are not acceptable especially in a crucial situation like Afcon knockout stage or WC playoffs.

No o,reason I said you guys words after the two friendlies testified good days ahead but better match reader makes a better coach.

Alright. Here's a quick summary:

In the game against Mexico we had a total number of 5 shots with only 1 shot on target.

In the game against Ecuador, we had a total number of 14 shots with 4 shots on target.

0 clear cut chances against Mexico, 3 clear cut chances against Ecuador.

We also had an overall passing accuracy of 83% over the two games.

In the game against Mexico, we conceded 12 total shots. Same thing against Ecuador. This was our major mistake.

He kept ghosting past Guinea Bissau and Sudan players at Afcon and we thought he was all that special, just look at how Mexico and Ecuador exposed him. I don't think he is bribing anyone but his play and crosses have been hopeless.

Two corners/crosses from Aribo were more threatening to Ecuador that the nonsense he kept dishing our.
Yeah, I didn't know Aribo could deliver crossess like that sef.

Sometimes one just wonder what coaches see in Simon, he always starts and takes almost all the set piece no matter how bad he is at them.

My opinion
They’ve not been protecting the goalies
Shots outside the 18 could be avoided if defenders perform tremendously

Mexico were so good, they needed their star striker Ekong to score

Eguavoen was always Technical Director of the team.
During Rohr’s tenure as well

Dessers will retire Sadiq and Sadiq is not better than Awoniyi. Your order of preference is flawed.

If Dessers played in the low level slow and laboured Segunda Division he would probably be top scorer in the league with at least 20 goals+

cheesy cheesy

We also need to add cutbacks [crosses] to our game. That way we can be more unpredictable in the wings.

You wouldn't know if it's a dribble coming and a cutback or a cross

In this game I always had hope once I saw Bassey shaping up for a cross. We need that on the right too

These guys are new to the squad

If we ever play 3-5-2
The starters upfront would be iheanacho & Osihmen
My prediction for next Afcon once we qualify
You’d see.
There’s no starter on this list besides Bassey

Dts y i said 70percent...not 100percent,even some names u mentioned might not get invites again most especially d unconvincing home based players and would b replaced with d usual old faces
