One thing many are not thinking about is the long term prospect of the country and of the individual. Many people leaving are not leaving because of the Nigeria of now and maybe not even because of themselves, but because of potential Nigeria of tomorrow and because of their children.

It does not look like the country will get better. It actually looks like things will get worse, so while you obtain your PVC you should also be planning for your individual future so your children won't ask you JAMB questions like my school mate whose father left Texas for Nigeria in 1982-1983.

I have an older colleague, His dad came to US in the 70s for Theology school and was to start a church here where he can get all his family a legal stay. After 2yrs the man left America in 1984 under the guise that he cannot be doing dirty man job as a big man. He went to Nigeria and became one Anglican church leader. but left his eldest son who was 14yrs behind with family friends and took the other 4 younger ones back to Naija

The 14yr old is now a big man in one company here, but the other ones in Naija one just got a visa to UK 3yrs ago, the other 3 have not been able to get visas and are stuck in their mid 40s. The father sef economy don change na that son wey dey Yankee dey build house, sed car to them in Nigeria

I tell you, this one decision dey change destinies. Coming from a polygamous extended family with dozens of uncles, aunties and cousins, I can see how the trajectory of life between brothers and sisters, cousin to cousin change simply based on who Japa and who did not japa. Multiple instances of two cousins the same age, and one is earning 6 figures while the other is struggling for accomodation and food. Even in my pops story who Japa on scholarship in 1970 and decided to return to Naija in 1984 despite working professionally here, you can see the difference in comfort of retirement with my pops best friend here who decided to stay here and drove bus his whole life. The bus driver was selling million pound house he kept from then to seal his retirement in style, while my pops was relying on his children to pay off his mortgage. Japa is a destiny changer.

If the stories are true that the likes of atiku, wike, tinubu, and osinbajo are spending millions of dollars in bribes just to win their party primaries, then you think such people are willing to let a trifling thing like individual votes stop their plans?

The worst part is the ones shouting get PVC and vote for Obi all over social media - isn't that a waste of PVC in the first instance?

That's why the japa message is critical. Nobody on Nigeria should live under the illusion that their opinion matters or their vote counts. Even in APC, they are literally trying to impose Lawan on their fellow gang members, how much more Nigeria.

Unless you want me to fabricate stories. I don't know any negative story that would help in balancing the narrative, apart from stories like the Naija doc who was suspended for massaging female patients BUT that has more to do with personal indiscipline than any immigration struggle. Even with the suspension the guy was still living okay.

Have you forgotten i was one of the first on this forum years back to declare that the country was condemned? Of course we both know the PVC is useless but just like religious belief that illusion might be what is keeping some people sane in that country. Imagine acknowledging that you are living in the matrix. It might phuck with people's minds.

So for those who believe in PVC they can obtain it but it should not deter them from their personal japa hustle.

Obviously there will be people pushed abroad by their parents who were naturally lazy and are not used to working.
There’s a guy here that still relies on his parent for tuition and rent.
We had to force him this year to get a job as he started becoming suicidal that he is a failure, his parent always compare him to his successful brother in the US and all that.
I’ll say having the right mentality is a huge factor and that’ll take you far.
I got my first job in construction through some naija guys working there and they were saying I’ll quit in one week since I look like Ajebo compared to them.
Wrong, I woke up 4:30am for 9months to catch the bus before buying my first car.
Then I transitioned to another sector where I got paid way more for doing less
Now I’m even earning less than my previous job since I’m just a graduate but it gets better with experience
My British boss is pushing me to become a CPA that there are lots of opportunities in the firm for me and now I’m an associate member of CPA
If you choose to be lazy abroad, at least you’ll have constant light and good security
My housemate got a job as a civil engineer, a former broke guy in Ibadan helping his mom with her printing business.

To get certain visas are easier in other African countries than in Nigeria
I heard of a Naija guy, got Ghana pali and he is now somwhere in Europe
2yrs of legal stay in a Southern African country you will realize that their US, Canada embassy is not warfare like in Walter Carrington

Medical profession would always be the first to see that the country is condemned. E no get how you go ask Doctor to function without even the most basic equipment, pathology or drugs and they won't call bullshit.
