Hello everyone Please is it true that one needs to book to and fro in order to be able to travel with a visit visa. If yes, what is the most affordable and good airline to travel with? Also, I will like to know the list of foods that are banned from traveling with. Thanks |

Unless you are using a super visa, CBSA will not allow you into Canada without a return ticket Wales55: |

Good evening Nairalanders, trust we all good. Please I would like to ask the following questions: I have been to Canada before, sometime in 2018 and didn't abuse my visa. Only stayed 23days and left for the UK for four days to attend a friend child's christening, then back to Nigeria. Please note I have been to several other countries including the United States, France, Italy, Egypt, Uganda South Africa Tanzania and some other countries. At the moment I am operating on a 5yrs UK visa and planned visiting the UK soon on a short vacation. I want to renew my Canada TRV without a specific travel plan yet. Meanwhile, I have a friend who is now a Canadian citizen and has offered to send an invitation to visit him and his family. This is yet to be concluded though. Now, considering the fact that my friend got his citizenship via Asylum. Please I need to know if that will affect my application or not? Meanwhile, I got my first TRV visa via Hotel reservation. Also, which of the portal is best for recent applications. Old or new portal? Please I need a professional advice to the above concerns just to clear my doubts. Thanks! GONEGREEN |

Use the first route of hotel reservation. Your chance is high gonegreen: |

The general rule of visit visa is that you must have a return ticket. For the fact that somebody was allowed to enter with that does not mean another officer will allow it. noeloge82: |

I withdrew my TRV application June 1st 2022, because of the long processing time. I applied since nov 2021 via the new portal but no response . I raised a gcms note and when I received it I saw that my application is still inprocess only background checked passed, bio passed ,security check passed , nothing yet has been done even eligibility has not started . After I raised a web form to cancel and redraw my application . My eligibility started two day ago on the portal . If you were able to cancel or successfully redraw your application, how long did it take ? I am yet to get a response that my application has been redrawn or cancelled . How long does it take ? |

Talksub: It's withdrawn not redrawn. just incase, if you stated redrawn in your mail to ircc you have passed a complete different message to them. |

@olasubomy does this mean that the in Canada processing time applies.....have been on SOWP so if my wife applies for me from canada its better than if i apply myself from Nigeria olasubomy: |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by olasubomy: 5:40am On Jun 10, 2022 |
afrobrown2000: Yes, sir, processing time applies to both outside and inside Canada. You can view the link below for the IRCC guidelines for different categories of applications as it relates to in and out of Canada. Your SOWP would have a shorter processing time if filed from Canada, but the actual processing time and finalization of your application are up to the immigration authorities. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html Currently, some applications recently filed inside Canada are taking longer than usual, like Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP), which used to be very fast. PGWP processing now is running into months due to the backlogs of applications IRCC is dealing with and support they are rendering to wartorn countries like Ukraine. So you may experience longer than normal processing times |

Kurukuru: That story is not even clear. No airline will board somebody on a visit visa from Nigeria....... Visit Visa is strictly, no return ticket then no boarding. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oluayebenz: 9:38am On Jun 10, 2022 |
nonyeesther: No return ticket, no boarding on a visitor visa. Only if using a super visa 1 Like |

Why are people asking questions that has been answered? If you go to Canada on normal visit visa with a one way visa, if the officer is lenient with you, he may send you back. But if you meet a wicked person, the visa may be cancelled. They will tell you that contrary to what you told them before granting you the visa that you would return back to Nigeria, your one way ticket is an indication that you have no intention of returning back to Nigeria nonyeesther: |
