Congrats , see what devaluation is doing to our economy, back in 2015 you wont spend more than 700k for this vehicle (mean its a 2001 model)

Price of old vehicles, appliances and equipment are on the rise. The price you bought it is could be more than the sticker price in 2001.

So, after much market research and advise I got from this thread https://www.nairaland.com/7161605/good-people-buy-tokunbo-e250, I finally decided to 'risk' it and purchase the vehicle.

I paid for it 1.4m, gave the ford mechanic 8k to service it (Nozzle and oil change), and also bought gear oil and engine oil. Then I gave it a small body wash.

In all, I spent about 1,430,000. Now vehicle speeds like mad, and is a Rear wheel drive.

So all I need to do is panel beater work. I'm budgeting like 200k for it.

So all in all, this vehicle at 1,630,000 is an excellent buy.

Or what do you think

Op
You bought Ford Van?

Did you do your research very well before buying it cuz I once had this van in my possession, the wahala wasn't funny at all that we had to sell off under 6 months use.

Its a very problematic vehicle.

Op well done.....I'm caught between buying a 2011 Rav4 and completing my personal house back home.

A very big conundrum for me.

My advice is conditional
If you don't have a car presently and you are a family man with children I will suggest you buy a car of 3million and invest the other 3million in your house

But if you are single, finish your house

I estimated Rav 4 - 2011 from www.jiji.com to be 6million

Thank you Sir.

I thought about it too but For some reason, the 4 tyres are FIRESTONE brand, and still solid.

I even noticed the tyre after I had paid....at the vulcanizer's place when I wanted to inflate them

Firestone is a very good tyre but Ensure you check date and year in the Tyre's as that is what really defines how good the Tyre's are.

Congrats!

OK. Good buy. Congrats

If you are in lagos make sure you get all your papers.
Running a commercial vehicle can be wahala in lag (saying this as a pickup owner)

Road worthiness is a little harder now.
You may or may not need a speed limiter. Not absolutely sure

Ford is a good product, l once drove FORD EXPLORER that l brought to Nigeria from North America, nice SUV but the parts are freaking expensive in Nigeria and you need a good mechanic as well to help you in servicing the vehicle. wink

Good Point Sir. Will check it

Carefully look at the Tyres, You will see a place where you have 4 numbers in a small circle, showing the week and year the tyre was manufactured.
The first two numbers is the week the tyre was manufactured while the last two is the year. Then you know if they are still good.
Firestone could serve you for 4-5 yrs

Bro I’ve had 2 of this vehicle for More than a year now. They are doing fine and it’s not as horrible as you are making it sound. I have the 2007 model of the E350 econoline. And I’m glad I bought them. And I’m planning to buy more. Even 6 tires self.
