Colonial mentality! Britain colonized you and dashed you lawyer gown and you no gree drop or localize the dressing after 60 yrs since Britain left. And here you have a smart lawyer dressed-up as a true son of the soil, and you dressed up like a British man wan drag him out of the court. Na our own we recognize.

Yes very good I like it!!! Since Muslims are allowed to dress in their religious attire. Other people also have the right to dress in their own religious attire as well. Muslims shouldn't even be angry about this or else they will only be contradicting themselves.

Please spare me the hypocrisy.

If traditional worshippers started dressing like dibias and medicine men everywhere the same Nigerian Christians would have a mental melt down.

The devil is upon us!

Respect how others perform their religion. That is very rich from a Nigerian Christian who will celebrate burning down a shrine for Jesus.

Please feel free to cosplay as any traditionalist you feel like.

Just do it with the same rigor that muslim women do with the hijab.

Then we will know you are serious in your pursuit of 'religious freedom'

Bunch of hypocrites.

They see nuns and smile, see women in hijab and foam at the mouth, and then they wail about religious tolerance.
Are nuns allowed to wear their veil to court? You're not making any sense madam

Yes it is according to your comment. Nobody is saying Muslims aren't allowed to wear Hijabs but the argument here is wearing it to a court.
Since they've been given the right to wear it to a court, why are you people angry that someone else is wearing his own religious attire to the courtroom??

please stop ascribing your bitterness to me

if you have taken the time to read through my posts, you will see i am more amused than anything else

Christians have effectively de marketed traditional religion in Nigeria. every opportunity they have, be it in entertainment, media or every day life, they paint traditional religions are primitive, backward and devilish

so it is very funny that a christian lawyer - i guarantee it is a christian lawyer - you are the ones who are so butthurt over this is choosing to respond by donning traditionalist garb that looks completely out of place in a corporate setting

i am sure you can show me different pictures of ceos, leaders minister etc dressed up as TRADITIONALISTs .

but i have said that in pursuit of logic - which is really what the law is about, the following are required

1) females, not males are the ones who should be wearing traditional garb. this ruling was for women, not men - unless of course in matters like this women are expected to be silent while men take action - ,submission as yu like to call it

2) whatever kind of covering a muslim woman wears, hijab, niqab, chador, burqa - they wear it every where except their home. so any truly concerned woman who wants to express a new found desire to advance the rights of the previously despised and loathed traditional worshipers, should follow those cues. it is not about childish stunting - wear the traditionalist wear EVERYWHERE, not just for 10 minutes in court. lets see if it is not your fellow christians who are pretending to be tolerant that will not attack you first tongue tongue

3) in most of the civilized parts of the world, women wear hijab in court. they also wear trousers and they have also done away with the useless outdated wigs. let these so called newly minted freedom sorry culture crusaders face more pressing issues than choking on their bile

please go ahead with your 'freedom' as you call it. you will simply look like what you are, ridiculous clowns auditioning for roles in mount zion movies cheesy cheesy

What is Fundamental Human Right in the first place?

if the bolded above is considered, then i have my right to STEAL, VANDALIZE properties, dress NAKED, DEFRAUD people and the rest of them? , now tell me why will you arrest me since I have my rights to do what I want and How I want to do them.

The Law has always been a thing of conserving the elites, but doesn't apply to the less privileged...

What a Mumbo Jumbo Rights Indeed! angry

Mr Learned

Of course you can steal, vandalize, dress or defraud as long as you are doing it to yourself but when you do it to others then you are infringing on their fundamental human rights. Many mad people are working naked without no one paying attention to them except maybe their loved ones or those who care enough. Many people also do bodily inflict harms on themselves and people hardly care but dont do it to others or the law guarding them will fall on you.

Ain't nobody put it as priority,it is the Christians that are tripping just because of their hatred for Islam.

These same Christians will oppose it when a professional nurse want to use it.

take are look at these two. No one would reject an amazily dressed lady on hijab. The second and third are Nigerians, but you can spot the difference.

Oh wait!!! Maybe it's because the lady in the second picture is still a child...

I guess not, because the fourth picture disagrees.

I see pretty ladies every day on cute hijabs and I appreciate them, no one would turn down a nurse dressed like the lady in the first picture, unless he/she has had a horrible experience before.

Thanks for your apt narrative. However you failed to admit that the argument for hijab wearing in court was on religious basis and not for fashion purpose as you have stated.

Nigeria’s constitution doesn’t recognize a specific religions and thus the freedom of association meaning “what is good for the goose is good for the gander”.

If Muslims can wear hijab freely, the traditionalists too can wear whatsoever as long as it doesn’t portray nudity.
You fail to understand my point,

My point is stop making it seem like hijab is an attire or dressing therefore telling others religions like traditional religion to wear attire to place of work, hijab is a piece of cloth worn on any attire just to cover the head,

Just like traditional cap is worn on any attire and doesn't affect the code of dressing

And who make you the mouthpiece for all Religion? Who make you the law? What makes you think you have a say on how other religion should carry on with their rites?!
Herbalist ephods is just an apron not a complete attire. Ifa beads/cowries are just an accessory not a complete attire. Celestial church worshippers walking bare-footed is just a believe not an attire at all. The chalk and birds feather on a traditionalist priest is just an adornment not an attire... should I go on?!
So rest your peace, everyone is entitled to their fundamental human rights!
Yes I believe they can do all you stated above so far it did not affect the code of dressing

You must be stupid, stop quoting me and talking nonsense. A slave to Arabs can't tell me nothing. Our African culture precedes all these religions they used to enslave you idiots, better read history and learn. Since Muslims can wear hijab, everyone can wear their traditional sango, or herbalist attire. Who are you to say they should not be allowed. Slave. You forget how Islam jihadist swept across Northern Nigeria and forced their religion and leaders down your throat. Are you Arab?
Mumu.
Even if I'm not arab, and decided to be like them, is it now a crime

Will you force me to do my traditions in contradict to my will

Why must you think every African is subjected to its traditional culture

This is democracy my dear, if I decide to be like Arab, my choice, if you decide to kill people for ogun for sacrifice and do all sort of your traditional people do your choice

Peace

Dress code is different from Uniform.
The Gross with hijab is - it defeats the purpose of uniformity. Muslim ladies have and are still wearing hijab in tertiary institution, office and public place without issues.
But when an institution has a uniform and you decided to offset the uniform with hijab, what then is the purpose of uniform again if all individuals decided to go rogue?!
If Uniformity cannot be adhere to, the need for one is no longer necessary.

Good question. wearing of veil is not a religions thing. it is a cultural act. the Arab pagan see it as a cultural act, that why the wear it.

but Muhammad change it to another dimension to fit his dogma.
