Please Doctors in the house I need a medical advise:
I notice something last year when I was in school… I do use my laptop a lot doing the night reading and watching movies in school.. but I notice I do feel a strain in my eyes and start having slight headache, I ask a pharmacist around and I was told to get a reading lens , like a glass, but it was expensive, so I didn’t… I also notice I don’t like too much light. Expecially if it’s now brighter.. 2days ago I start a journey of earning an online skills certificate due to the recent ASUU Strike in which I use my system almost all the time. It began today when I didn’t sleep until 2am with my laptop, went to church in the morning around 7am standing with camera for 3hours m, also stood under intense light for some few minute due to some technical issue to resolve in church. After that I tried to take a nap but I woke up with headache , I notice I couldn’t stand properly and the headache increases the more I stare unto light..
I just had to use paracetamol using water on my face and laying down before it subsidize..
I really want to know what is really wrong?

Could be ocular migraine. It makes your eyes hypersensitive to light. It is mostly due to refraction error, that is light is not hitting the retina in the angle it should and since the retina is connected to the brain it keeps sending distress signals in form of one-sided headaches. It can be managed by using dark mode when operating your laptop and phones, and also make sure your room is well lighted whenever you are using a phone or laptop. For the camera lights, get a sunshade to reduce brightness. Lastly see an eye specialist it could be as a result of an eye infection or condition.

Thank you so much. I would try to see a eye specialist very soon, but I don’t really like dark mode… I prefer to reduce the screen brightness to it minimum , if you mean well lighted, I don’t like too much light so I don’t use light when am at home I still prefer to use touch light or my laptop brightness to see the house

For the sunshade, a pharmacist told me to use laptop eye protector

always have other sources of light on when you want to use your laptop and phones, like light bulbs or a bright lantern. The pupils of your eye regulate inflow of light and it dilates in the dark to get more light to your eyes, so if the only light source is your laptop it fools the eyes, so you pupils work extra hard. But in a well lighted room the pupils contracts to block amount of lights that goes into the eyes. Your headache is more related to reading in the dark, introduce other light source and help your eyes.

I had same issues around 2015 due to operating my phone in the dark, immediately i stopped things became normal again. Also get use to switching your light on when you are indoors except when you want to sleep.

I am still experiencing the headache .. I woke up at midnight to use parecetamol after the headache was extreme, this morning it got a little better before I went to church but after the service I started feeling the headache expecially at the left of my brain to the back.
Also about the light issue… I can’t sleep while the light is on
