We celebrate him. We celebrate intellectual militancy, ingenuity and courage.

When he was awarded the Nobel Laurel, while he was being celebrated by Africans, US & Europeans, right in Nigeria, some people turned the Nobel Prize to a subject of enmity deriding the award and awardee. They called the award a Toxic Waste dumped in Nigeria.

They said so many things out of bitterness, frustration and jealousy. If the award had come from a local organization based in Nigeria, they would have said they were marginalized , victimized and rigged out of the award.

The people from the region who fought Soyinka because of the award also fought MKO Abiola, Obasanjo and now Bola Tinubu.

Soyinka is victorious over them as the elemental powers fought them. Soyinka outlived them victoriously.
