The coach is lucky he is finally playing Christy consistently cos I have been saying this for long but to tell the truth she was even better than advertised.

You're very Correct, At 21 she's better than how she's been rated. A fine replacement for Rita Chikwelu...

I think Randy should just stick to the Midfield trios of Ucheibe, Ayinde and Okobi.... Then look for a better replacement for them

Should I say Regina Otu, Chinaza Uchendu and One of this girl's from the U20. If Peace Efih and Amanda Mbadi get better they can as well earn their spot...

For me Peace Efih should be the first to come off the bench. She can play in all midfield positions.

She doesn't need to do anything extraordinary as long as her replacement is also not doing anything extraordinary grin
Who is her replacement? MacLean? cheesy MacLean may not even see shirt. In the CF role, Oshoala and Ify are already there. Esther, Ajibade,Gift, Payne, Ordega and Kanu are there already. So, I'm not talking of MacLean even though she has not been given enough playing time.

Desire Oparanozie major weakness is her lack of pace which she make up for with her Robustness, hold up play, Quick feet’s, Free Kicks and finishing…
In the last AWCON and WC, she was poor in all the aspects you mentioned. Hopefully, she is now more rejuvenated. I kinda like her type of striker....she can be our Lukaku grin

Exactly and she is not all defensive. She would win the ball, turn and give a good pass. That girl too much. If Etebo still never wake up, JP should call her up asap for the eagles grin

Please where is that lady that assisted oshoala at the Wc...and also is ngozi ebere retired??
Okeke was the one who gave the pass to Oshoala. She was playing for Madrid before she got injured. She made the preliminary squad but not the final squad. Ngozi Ebere is either out of football or she is injured. Been long I heard anything about her. But I'm not worried sha, if Pat can be added to this squad and with the Payne's, we will be fine.

Exactly...there was this ball she won close to the touchline..with 2 cameroonians on her, I was expecting her to just Nick the ball out for throw-in but she cleanly held and executed a perfect turn while holding out the 2 players and gave (forgot who) a pass. Like I said, if it is allowed, this girl will partner Ndidi effectively for the SE cheesy grin grin

[b]You saw that too baami. She matched them power for power and strength for strength. Then i notice Ajibade is also quit powerful for her stature and the Cameroonians struggles to mark her whenever she had the balls. I really enjoyed yesterday’s game till Rita was introduced. Rita has lost it completely.

We could assume the CAF president got what he wanted.

2 Southern African countries have qualified for the world cup and West Africa will have just Nigeria representing her. Worthy of note is the fact that Southern Africa has only been to the world cup once.

I hope the WAFU zone insists that subsequent qualification be reverted to the previous format.

WAFU is a stupid entity. I’m sure they took bribe for them to have allowed such to fly in the first place. It’s absolutely rubbish. We’d be seeing basketball scoreline at the WC.

It's funny that they allowed the format for national team football but not for club football...
Shebi the goal is to develop each region's football...Let them extend it to clubs too.. So each region can have equal participation...
Nonsense!!

Ghana have been the worst affected team by the rule... they have missed u-17 world cup and women afcon because of it...

Permit me to look at this from a different viewpoint, haven watched Ghana, Ivorycoast, Morocco, and Zambia. I don't think Ghana and Ivorycoast would have been spectacular at the Worldcup, anymore so than Morocco and Zambia. Yes they are highly ranked and have history, but I see little difference in quality between those teams and Morocco/Zambia.

Note that Zambia may even have three of their top players (who are missing in this tournament) back for the World cup.

Let us admit that COSAFA teams have improved overtime because of the very organized COSAFA cup held every two years.

We also only managed to beat Botswana just 2-0. But I agree the qualifiers pairing was rubbish because Ivorycoast and Ghana should have been in this tournament even at the expense of upcoming Botswana.

yes both southern and northern regions have improved tremendously while western region remained stagnant, both Ivory coast nd Ghana are no better than Zambia and morocco even cameroon 2nd ranked team failed to beat them

She is not a ‘fine replacement’ for Rita Chikwelu - she is an upgrade. She brings energy, steel and pace which Chikwelu currently lacks. That was evident to me since the Canada friendlies.

From the U20, the likes of Esther Onyenedize, Flourish Emmanuel and Debbie Ajibola should be onboarded immediately after the U20WWC, to give them time to blend into the team. Upfront, we definitely need Rinsola Babajide to be in the mix (in addition to others that have been listed).

Like the progression the team is making, as evidenced in this tournament. 3 consecutive shutouts and three dominant performances. Looking forward to the next matches.

Vamos, SuperFalcons!!!

Peace Efih should have come in and not Rita. Rita should just retire after this AWCON. She has paid her dues. The friendly against US will determine if Ebi should retire too because we won't be playing the like of Burundi and Botswana in the WC.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mostob(m): 11:53am On Jul 15, 2022
The two things that can favour Morocco is the home advantage and set piece.
For the former, I believe our girls should have no problem but the latter is the main problem.

Now, for the main play, Morocco's strength is in wing play and with our solid FBs, our fiery wingers (helping out in defence too), we should have no problem countering them.

I don't want to be overconfident but with Ucheibe's form, Ayinde in her top form, we should more than match them in Midfield. My only concern is Okobi. She will be doing more than ball holding in that match. We will need her to deliver the key passes and even make scoring attempts. Onumomu will match them physically but her pace is a concern.

All in all, I'm positive about that match but the officiating Hmmmm

It is important to start advocating seriously for the girls. We should give voice to these 2 action points (amongst other things)

1. Everything that had being packaged hitherto for the Super Eagles had they qualified for the world cup should be given to the girls. For example, the Super Eagles always fly private (airpeace), the girls too should enjoy same privilege. The girls use a cheaper hotel anytime they camp in Abuja, that also should change.

2. The girls should be given a significant cut from the prize money should they win the WAFCON. I remember the Super Eagles had negotiated with the NFF and were going to get over $2M as their cut had they won the AFCON. Not sure what the bonuses or the ladies are (not even sure if they are paid to date) but what was good for the guys should also apply here. This of course should be different from whatever the federal government decides to give them should they win the competition.

The referee may likely be biased against Morocco and that is another problem....They may win set pieces in dangerous areas...
