If course.
Kunu is a general name. Then attached to the "Kunu" are names of the source.

For example, Kunu jeda, is Kunu made from groundnuts.
I hope you are not referring to the raw cow milk that Fulani women do sell...that they usually stir it before pouring a portion into small plates for their customers, especially in the camps. That one is not Kunu. I have forgotten the name.

U mean fura da nono.

Yea.
Mrmanabiity above has given the name.

"Fura da nono" (or nunu).
Fura is the cow milk while nunu is that greenish stuff that usually complements it.
Or it could be the other way round. That is, nunu being the milk

That is the normal kunu made with millet or something

The other type is kunu Aya

Aya means tiger nuts

So there are two types of kunnu
The one u drank (very common) and kunu Aya
There more than two type of Kunu.
Kunu Zaki (Zaki means sweet) - can be made with Millet or Gunea corn
Kunu Geda (Geda is the Hausa name for groundnut) - made with rice and groundnut.
Kunu Aya - made from Tigernuts
Kunu Tsisua.

Make your choice

Dry ones are more tastier, more creamy though you might need to buy more of it.

Normal milk is loaded with fat.
Skimmed milk is just the healthier alternative.

Nigerian cow milk is not the same as foreign

I hope u know we have local peak milk and Holland peak milk

Holland peak milk is better and costs more than Nigerian peak milk

But then I do drink raw cow milk, I don't think it's better than kunnu, both Aya and millet
The best thing is that it's not dilluted, it's sweeter and fresher than canned milk, it's more filling just like kunu

Cow milk is the same all over the world.
Naija cow milk is healthier cos the cows are giving organic food.
The same with Nigerian meat. As a matter of fact food from Nigeria is should never be equated with foodstuffs from the West in any way.

The only thing that I am against in naija milk is the quantity of sugar we put in it.
Milk isn't sweet at all. Sugar enhances the sweetness and we put a lot.

@bolded: come to think of it, all of us say "they" when referring to Nigerians and I guess that's why nothing is happening. It'll take someone to go out of thier way to produce, preserve, package and market the milk. The person and the farmers will become rich and consumers will be happy. I've not had the milk but I can already tell how awesome it would be. cheesy

Permit me to get into this conversation.... Kunu Aya is very much common in the north. It's the south that don't really have it but it's so common in the north.

Small scale? Yes but every household has access to it., If its business wants to be done, it will have to be targeted to the south. I drank it many times and I must tell you that it's very sweet abd refreshing when cold. What it needs to compete well in the south is packaging

I guess the preservation and the packaging are the missing elements. To market it in the South (and even export it outside the country), it has to be well preserved so that it will last long enough. And it has to be packaged and labeled well enough to appeal to skeptics.

Since I have known soya milk

I only see people take it for refreshment
Never seen it being used for cereal, tea or garri

We usually know dairy milk as milk
I use soya milk for all you listed above. I love it.
