They should go back and review that law so that other parties can have locus to challenge things like this. Nigerian politicians are crafty criminals, they always look for loopholes in every law to explore.

Even in the old Electoral Act, it was like that.

The only difference was based on Certificate issues (S29). Based on credentials, certificate issues..It used to be any person but now they have changed it to only an Aspirant.

Notwithstanding the provisions of this Act or rules of a political party, an aspirant who complains that any of the provisions of this Act and the guidelines of a political party have not been complied with in the selection or nomination of a candidate of a political party for election, may apply to the Federal High Court for redress.

The South, especially the South East are babies in the game of politics. People like Umahi and Akpabio that they suppose to you style support as back up plan. You don't put your eggs in one basket or cut your nose to spite your face.
It is people like Umahi and Akpabio that should straightforward vie for Senate presidency IF APC wins the presidential election. But of course, when there's no big APC name from the South, the presidency will either go North or at worst South West. Then SE will cry blood and neglect and Biafra yet again.

So the south east controls the judiciary right? APC has two senators in Imo plus Orji uzor Kalu from Abia. If they are looking to give south east Senate presidency, we have candidates. Senator Izunaso from Imo west is coming, he will replace Rochas and he is APC.

Bala Mohammed participated in two primaries and scored votes, I don't even think the issue here is the candidate stepping down but participating in two primaries, the judge relied on section 115 of the electoral act for his judgement.
