So from the above, it looks like with W-8BEN, you will be exempt from 30% US income tax. You need to read the contract you were given to understand the terms of your contract. I want to believe you were given a 1099 Independent Contractor which means you will send your "employer" an invoice periodically indicating hours worked and how much they are due to pay you. With a 1099 Contract, your "employer" does not have to pay tax in the US or Nigeria. You, on the other hand will be responsible for fulling your income tax responsibilities to the Nigerian authorities.

The most straightforward way to get a Vultr or GCP VPS would be to get a Dollar card. Normal Naija Naira cards no dey work again for most of these places.

Also because a lot of our "bombers" use it in their scam emails sent to Americans, a lot of Americans now see "kindly" as a possible clue that an email could be a scam mail. Drop am patapata. I disagree with that statement should I say in my own case that's not true. What stack are you using? if you have a 1k monthly sef you can put aside some cash and do other gigs on the side. 8k is not cheap but definitely not expensive compared to others

The obvious starter is DSA and Alg (irrespective of language).
With that said, amongst many, perhaps the two streams to latch on might be web development and DS/DA/ML (aka data science, data analytics..)

Before you get lost in the Pyramid or Falcon, the two to consider for web development are Flask and Django. Though Flask might be more pythonic, Django appears more mainstream.
On the DS/DA side, streamlit and Dash get you dashboarding. You can still hack your way with Plotly an Flask (inbtw, Dash was built on top of Flask).
As you'll know by now, libraries gets overhaul relatively fast same as some get outdated. #keeptap Nonetheless, principles remains!
quick access is relative subjective.
