lovewins: Looooolll... this is absolutely hilarious. So hilarious infact that I must break it down a bit. A battle ready Comrade just saw his fellow Naija Vawulence lieutenants taking huge shots at Michael Johnson and he followed suit, not wanting to miss the action. Now, in the midst of enjoying the whole action he pauses and asked to know what he is really doing this for. This guy na real cruise. What a guy. 12 Likes 2 Shares

Tinneh: Divine has gone off the radar o.... It's almost like he's hiding.. Hasn't competed in any major event since 2019.. But two gist I came across was that he left the Nigerian Olympic team after he was barred from joining the team party for putting on puma kits as against Nike... The second gist is that he went into hiding after the Blessing Okagbare issue at the Olympics.. 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Americans think they own the shorter track events. I remember how the Usain Bolt's era got under their skin. This is basically wat Jamaicans go through sometimes as their biggest competitor. Well I can see he started backtracking and is now playing the victim. Wat he said was just senseless really. 1 Like |

lovewins:Its gradually becoming normal to subject people to indiscriminate bullying on social media. Everyone throws his one cent jab forgetting he's receiving hundreds of it. That's how Nigerians began dragging Mrs Carter on an issue she knew little about back then. I didn't see him insulting Amusan anywhere. It's his business if he has reservations with the time. Congrats to Amusan. Harrison became my fav then after she broke the WR back in '16 out of anger at losing out in the Olympic trials. She beat all four US reps. Amusan with the rec now. That's great. 1 Like 1 Share |

Odunayaw:LoL.. But on a more serious note, some people may not see it yet, but what Tobi did today may directly or indirectly have an effect on our sport development going forward... She's been trending all day and even the most prominent personalities have been talking about her... Politicians are using her feat to chase clout.. But most people are using her as a clear example to the fact that we have a lot of talents like her all over the country... What we don't have is proper infrastructure and incentive to develop these talents... Imagine how many top athletes we lose to other countries every year! Maybe this could encourage our government to seat up and do better... 5 Likes |

Despite logistical troubles at Tokyo, it was evident that Nigeria has lots of potential in track. Amusan's 4th place finish, Ese's silver and Adegoke making it to the 100m finals showcased this. The evidence of this potential was further cemented when our youth finished 3rd at the U20 youth athletics championship last year in Kenya. I seriously implore that our FG and sports ministry invest heavily in this sport. The potential is there and we can make a huge statement in 2024 in Paris. If not Paris (since its too soon), then Los Angeles it is. 6 Likes |

What’s happening to Iheanacho & Emmanuel Dennis? Our Nigerian forwards need to move to clubs that will use them regularly or show them in the top 5 leagues Dennis needs to move to an EPL club |

Wayne Rooney's DC United preparing N2.1b bid for 6ft 4in Nigerian attacker Major League Soccer club D.C. United, coached by Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney, are reportedly lining up a bid for Nigerian attacker Elijah Adebayo. Rooney returned to D.C. United earlier this month, this time as manager, after resigning as Derby County coach. Washington Post reporter Steven Goff has tweeted that D.C. United will make a bid in excess of five million dollars (N2.1 billion in Nigerian currency) for the Luton Town star. Adebayo, a product of the Fulham Academy where he spent twelve years, moved to the Hatters in February 2021, and made a splash last season with 17 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions. The 6ft 4in striker played a fringe role due to fitness issues as Luton Town were beaten by Huddersfield Town in the Championship playoff semifinals. Should Adebayo's transfer to D.C United materialize, it would be the first time in his career he has been snapped up by a non-English club. During his time at Craven Cottage, he embarked on loan spells at Slough Town, Bognor Regis Town, Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town and Stevenage, before sealing a permanent transfer to Walsall in the summer of 2019. Adebayo has a contract with Luton Town until June 2024 and netted against Derby County last October with Rooney in the Rams dugout. 1 Like |
