Reducing the security situation to simply arming and recruiting men is a rather simplistic take on the issue. There are underlying issues that bother on:

- The age-long history between the warring tribes
- Drought and desertification
- Ancient cultural practices like nomadic cattle herding
- Establishing trust between the people there and the Nigerian state
- And of course, public procurement

The war on terror has been on for at least 12 years and in the 2022 budget, Buhari allocated about a trillion to defence. There's money being pumped into security but much of it has been embezzled. Yusuf-Datti, Peter Obi's running mate has once tried passing a bill to address current public procurement issues and they've made it one of their campaign promises to fix public procurement. Every now and again we see top military guys accused of embezzlement that are running billions a better public procurement policy will fix this. Improved procurement will give us better armed and better compensated military officials.

Def 8 years is not going to fix all of these issues and yes, terrorists will be treated as terrorists but we need to think long-term in dealing with these issues.

There have been warring tribes since time immemorial, but we only saw this type of level of insecurity pop up in the 4th republic with the likes of MEND and later Boko Haram.

Nigeria has experienced a civil war, and multiple coups, and we didn't have to deal with this level of insecurity until after 1999 when Niger delta kidnappings peaked around 07/08.

Azazi who was NSA at the time came out openly abd said PDP and BH were one and the same. Than man soon died in a plane crash. Another NSA, Monguno, came out abd said that the military could not account for the funds that had been provided to buy weapons. Yet ANOTHER NSA, Dasuki, is currently facing trial for diverting 23 Billion Naira of military funding towards PDP election in 2015, out of that 23 billion, Sambo Dasuki said he spent 2.2 billion on 'Prayers' against BH.

I'm not interested in academic discussions about the cause of criminality. Nigeria citenzry has largely always been poor...yet its only within thr last 10 years that Bandits started taking over entire local governments. There is a reason for that, and it's not poverty.

So who is the better option? I see you criticizing all the candidates, so who do you want us to elect as our president? At the end of the day we have to choose someone and even if yes, Obi sometimes exaggerates or underrates some figures, he remains the only one to consistently pass his message to Nigerians who are starved of their political leaders sounding anything close to sane.

I have listened to a vast majority of Peter Obi videos and the man has made a lot of sense in many of them. Picking out the little falsehoods is like trying to shame a student who scored 89 over 100 in an exam while not focusing on the others who are scoring 20 over 100.

I could provide videos of this man making soo much sense but I am sure you would rather focus on the minor errors in his speeches while the others don't even bother about addressing the electorate they hope would vote for them.

My opinion on Nigeria is known. I don't think even a good or great President can save the country. I honestly think it is too late so all the insults and intrigues going back and forth for this election will ultimately be in vain.

Having said that, of the 3 major candidates only one has shown himself to be a fraud in my opinion and that is your principal. The situation would be way way over his head and he would find that talk is cheap. All these wild claims and disregard for stating the true facts might impress his core fans now but they will have no value when Nigerians start expecting him to deliver on his promises.

They say Atiku is completely corrupt and morally bankrupt so that is another problem. He probably has the capacity to do some good but does he have the will to do it? He is also another "elder" statesman so who knows what health skeletons are in his cupboard.

If Tinubu was healthy he would have been my candidate but i have seen enough of our recent history (Yar'Adua and Buhari) to know that an infirm president is a very bad idea.

To summarise i think Nigeria is in a lose-lose-lose situation just like i predicted back in 2015 when all of my Buhari fanatic friends were giving me 1001 reasons why Buhari was going to save Nigeria. I just gave them 2 reasons why he couldn't and it sadly happened as i said it would.

Finally, pay your taxes, pay your bills, go to work regularly. God bless you and God bless Nigeria.

So in fact, you are saying, you believe that Nigeria is condemned beyond repair and none of these candidates can do anything reasonable about it. Fine.

You can say that, it's easy for you to make that proclamation from far away Australia. It's easy to be in Australia and shout "nigeria can never be saved".
Well we in Nigeria have to fight to our last breath to salvage the country anyway we can. We cannot to afford to fold our hands and continue to watch our country be destroyed. We can't afford your spirit of nonchalance.
The only thing we can do is protest and vote. And in voting we have to choose the best candidate and Peter Obi is very clearly the best of the rest.

And to further add to that. One of the main reasons many are drawn to Peter Obi is what he represents.
I believe that Peter Obi winning next year's election is the highest form of silent political revolution any country can have.

I'm looking at the consequences of such a victory beyond Peter Obi himself.

Every nigerian suddenly realizing that they indeed have a voice.

Every politician realizing that the masses have woken up from their apathetic slumber

The beginning of an era of accountable politics.
The rejection of the old ways of politics.

That's very enticing to me. And I'm sorry but I can't afford your spirit of hopelessness in Nigeria's situation. I love my homeland and I wish within me to see my children grow in a prosperous Nigeria and that is why myself and my family will vote Peter Obi, the best man for the job

The policy itself which he flaunted was a very terrible one. No reasonable human being would hear that proposal and not scream.

"Recruit 50 million youths into the army, what they will eat, agbado, corn, yam in the morning".
The sheer stupidity of the statement is obvious.

First of all, you can't have a 50 million man army. It has never happened. It can never happen. The small army you already have is grossly unequipped and you want to add 50 million to that number. You want to send your workforce to their deaths and feed them only staple meals which lack the balanced diet. So you illequip them and underfeed them.

Such a shameless ancestor that should be in a retirement home.
