Hey @ednut1, it has been a long time. I am glad to see that you are still on here.
In 2009 I took a job as a credit analyst (processing credit cards applications) in one of the major American banks with an extension in Canada.(Citibank). Citibank have few extensions in Canada known as Citi Financial, Citicards Canada .... I was working for Citicards Canada. The pay was $15/hour (close to 30K/year) for a credit analyst at that ime. But, given that I was bilingual I was making $17/hours (close to 34K/year).
I am surprised that the annual income of a credit analyst to be 65K in today market (more than the double of what it used to be back in 2009). Adding to that, I know people working for TD bank in different department with wages ranging from 40K to 50K. That is why I was expecting a credit analyst at TD to be making about the same.
In any case, I am happy for @slydog for getting a 65K credit analyst job at TD. And good luck to him.
@Emmasonic4me yeah Canadian banks dont pay well. Citibank has changed today AVP position is above 6 figures today 6 Likes |

All you will need to do is to walk in a school for enrolment. Most likely the school board will recommend to enrol him in a school near your home address. But it isn’t always the case.
Will your 5 year old be 6 by the time you land ? If he will be less than 6, you will have to enroll him in kindergarten which is also free ...Please can a three year old child attend kindergarten? Thank you |

Zeewirld: ...Please can a three year old child attend kindergarten?
Thank you Kindergarten starts at 4 in most Canadian provinces. However, in some jurisdictions, a 3 year old can be admitted if he is close to 4 year old by September. He can be admitted if he is few month short of 4 year old by September. In other places, a child has to be 4 year old by September 30 to qualify. You should speak to the school to see if your 3 year old would qualify. 1 Like |

@Emmasonic4me You were a credit analyst processing "credit cards", in Nigeria this will fall under operations. Surprised the role is called credit analyst in Canada. In Nigeria credit analyst are the ones who review all the loans and financing needs of companies and businesses and individuals ranging from personal loans, mortgage, project finance, working capital, syndicated loans and all. This is the same thing my role in TD does and I will be given an approval limit of loans I can approved. I'm specifically in the commercial real estate unit, there are others in the personal mortgage unit, project unit and all, it's more diversified here, so no, I'm not reviewing and approving "credit cards". I opened account with a relationship manager I'm Scotia and he "decided" to give me a credit card. He didn't need to consult with any credit analyst. |

How then will he come up with the decision of approving or rejecting the credit card request? He would have to pull up your credit bureau to make the decision. Unless you have told him you are new to Canada and it became obvious that you have no credit rating. I remember back when I was a credit analyst, I could reject some applicants from the onset without even pulling their credit bureau. This usually happened when the applicant was a newcomer or wasn't a resident of Canada. |

Yes, it is a good idea. Career opportunities are scarce, as they are in Canada. There are fewer opportunities to save. Also, the cost of living in Canada is higher than in the UK, and transportation and services are subpar. While in the UK, there are excellent transportation options at reasonable prices. No insane people are requesting tickets on roads where you can travel safely. In Canada, however, the situation is the inverse. So, in my opinion, moving to the UK from Canada is a fantastic idea. Read this guide. Salary levels in Canada are higher than in the United Kingdom. Because salary is determined by work experience. So, various studies have shown that Canada has a high salary rate. Because Canada is the world's most educated country. |

Great ,thanks sir ,,cos more to the PR issue ,I also asked because I was wondering if they will consider 2 years role as credit analyst ...like maybe the person hasn't gathered experience enough in that role. Honestly nobody can tell you that unless the recruiting firm. Read their requirements and apply if you meet them. 1 Like |

Read their requirements and apply if you meet them. Exactly. I had zero banking experience when I was offered the Credit Analyst position by Citi The best one can do is to apply for the position. @adesbaba 6 Likes |

Areba21: Yes, it is a good idea. Infact..i live in Calgary now, moved from Birmingham...It seems I went back in Time 2 Likes |
