iamoyindamola:That's why I didn't quote him. There are many points to use to demarket APC and TINUBU that will win over people that have not decided yet but instead of doing that he went to call his comrades that will not have any meaningful point than just shouting Afonja, skull miner, islamisation etc . If he was a morally upright person and not someone that is guilty of gaming the same system he is now trying to "save " I would have understand . 2 Likes |

Oasis007: Hmmm. What really is this supposed to do? Maybe carry officers. It can only carry four. It has no armour whatsoever. The operator of any weapon is fully exposed. This looks more like a parade vehicle than a vehicle with any real field application. But what do I know? |

BlueRayDick: It is billions in military procurement contracts. That is all I can say After some googling, it looks like maybe you can fix armour to the frame. So maybe this is just for display but what goes into the field would have actual armor. |

GloriousGbola: The situation is Nigeria is no different from what obtains in American movies where u see private military contractors owned by powerful people go to the extent of setting countries up against themselves just to be able to sell their services and even arms to all parties involved in the resultant conflict. Nigeria’s case is that for some reasons some VIP’s don’t want this terror war to end ; there are generals feeding fat from the multi billion security budget and their May be non state actors too who want to sell knockdown military equipment to us and chop out of the already inflated military budget |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Oasis007(m): 9:15am On Jul 31, 2022 |
GloriousGbola: LMFAO...... its called Army Infantry Squad Vehicles (ISVs). The ISV trades protection for speed, allowing paratroopers and other light forces to reach their objectives faster than walking. The vehicle is air-droppable from aircraft such as the C-130J Super Hercules and C-17 Globemaster III, can ride inside a CH-47 Chinook heavy lift helicopter, and can be carried slung underneath a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter. The ISV is designed to give troops airborne, mountain, light infantry, air assault, and Rangers a faster alternative to walking. ISV sacrifices protection for mobility, a decision that’s sure to be controversial in the coming years. The vehicle is completely unarmored, which is why it’s light enough to be carried by helicopter. The idea is that the extra mobility will allow Army troops to move out quickly from their landing zone or through rough terrain, stealing a march on the enemy and taking their objectives faster. Cc Afrodoc2 Attached is US type.

Oasis007: we are still saying the same thing. INFANTRYare the masses of the army the vehicle you posted is carrying 10 soldiers. this is designed to carry 4. it clearly can carry more than this that is why i said it looks like a vehicle for military officers. [ogas at the top in the field] you want to move infantry, you are looking for mass transit. a vehicle carrying four soldiers at a time is grossly inefficient for purpose. ironically a google search tells you a humvee [light armour] can carry 8 troops. i am trying to imagine why troops would be carried into boko haram territory in completely unamroured vehicles. and i think we both know our airforce does not have any troop carrie planes. and if they did , they would definitely not fly those ones anywhere near boko haram who reportedly have AAA |

GloriousGbola: Na its not. Our Terrain ain't same with America and Co. You need very light vehicle to maneuver your way out of trouble and ambush, especially in the North East. We ain't talking just one vehicle here, it's definitely gonna be multiple of it deployed for tactical operation. Note; it's designed for tactical operations only, and unlike US type, you can actually mount gun on proforce type. |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 9:48am On Jul 31, 2022 |
Oasis007: you think americans who have not fought a war on their land for over a hundred years designed vehicles for american terrain? a vehicle that can only carry four troops is a waste of fuel. also a waste of resources. you need more mechanics, more spares, more consumables. and more vehicles to move large contingents. so for 60 soldiers, you need 15 of them. the american model would require only 6. is that an efficent use of limited resources? |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Oasis007(m): 9:52am On Jul 31, 2022 |
GloriousGbola: So, you'll rather rely on Toyota Hilux for tactical operations? The Vehicle is not MRAP, its ISV. Its only deployed for TACTICAL OPERATIONS only!!! Attached is Proforce MRAP!

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 9:56am On Jul 31, 2022 |
Oasis007: i am saying if that vehicle is for actually for infantry, then it is badly designed. you cannot have a vehicle for basic infantry carrying four passengers. you posed a vehcile for infantry carrying 10 passengers As it has no armour, there is effectively No difference between it and a hilux. they are both carrying four passengers only. |

This innovative design has been praised for its modular design that makes it adaptable to various mission and, more crucially. |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Oasis007(m): 10:31am On Jul 31, 2022 |
afrodoc2: I believe its not just designed for fun. It's designed after thorough research of Nigeria Army Operations. We ain't professional here, so it's unlikely to debate fairly and objectively regarding the hardware. |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 10:39am On Jul 31, 2022 |
Oasis007: That a product was produced does not mean it will serve its purpose effectively. Even more advanced countries have had to scrap certain lines of production when they found out there were limitations in the field. Everybody knows that less armour and weight will translate into better speed BUT there has to be a balance. I would not be happy with NO armour or protection just for increased speed, we are not going for 100m race. You can still have some light armour and maintain good speeds. This is actually very important in Nigeria's situation whereby these soldiers do not have the air and radar support of their American counterparts. In Nigeria these soldiers will be surprised and ambushed a lot with practically no protection whereas their American counterparts would have been warned about the enemy fighters minutes to hours ahead. This vehicle looks more like a transport for soldiers (probably officers) for an army that is fighting with well defined enemy lines and so might be good for moving from the command centre to the enemy lines BUT that is not the war we are fighting here. |
