This is also my cover letter as attached to my application

If i am the ECO... I wont give you the visa... you liquidated 3million and the balance in ur account as of when u applied was the 3million and another 280k+ in ur account.... You receive 400k monthly salary since 2020 but no savings. it wont fly... Keep your 3month in ur account for the next 6months... Try work and receive 400k for another 6 month and ensure no other funds into the account other than your salary, Then pick another location in Central London where theres much tourist centers and then reapply ... My opinion ooo.

Hello All

I just received my passport with my visa approved. This is a renewal.

Biometrics at Ikeja - 29th June 2022
Application transferred and received by DMC - 6th July 2022.
sent a paid mail and received a response on the 26th of July. The response was decision has been made and i should await receipt of my passport within 10 working days.
Application transferred and received by VAC - 1st of August 2022
Passport picked up by DHL - 1st of August 2022
Passport delivered by DHL - 2nd August 2022.

Documents submitted
Letter of introduction from my office
offer letter from my employer
6 months' pay-slip
6 months bank statement (about 1m balance).
Also had joint bank statement for me and my husband (57m and $30k)
flight and hotel reservation
marriage certificate

Surprisingly, i applied together with my husband but no update at all on his. He also opted for keep my passport.
i sent a paid mail on his behalf and the response was that a decision has been taken. Not sure when they will request for his passport.
Has anyone experienced this before? We always apply together for our previous visas and received back on the same day. This renewal is quite different.

So far there's no refusal mail as regards his application... babu wahala... send paid mail that you are awaiting passport request. they will sure tell u what to do .

Good morning NairaLanders.

Please I need assistance/guidance regarding booking a flight from Lagos to Bradford. I am going with my spouse and I have checked Skyscanner and wakanow for best routes that is affordable and will not require a transit visa.
Between KLM and Quatar airline which is better?
I noticed that the cheaper the flight, the longer the layover. Please I need your comments and suggestions. Thanks in anticipation.

I don’t understand these UKVI people!!! My mom’s tourist visa application is 9 weeks now. They’ve been with her passport for 9 weeks going to 10 weeks!
I sent a paid mail and they said decision has been made and I tracked her application and it’s still at DMC??
She did her biometrics on the 2nd of June
Please how do I get her passport back?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Rerin: 6:59pm On Aug 02, 2022
Hi everyone, please advise if ok not to include introduction letter from employer in a UK renewal, though payslips, all promotion letters, approved leave mail from boss would be all added. This will be the 3rd renewal.

Can a bank statement downloaded online without being stamped be presented?

Thank you so much. This is helpful

Save yourself the hassle of transit visa via KLM. Use Ethiopia Airline. You will arrived London Heathrow around 8am next day. Download National Express bus app. Book bus from London Heathrow to Bradford. Enjoy yourself.

You do not know anything about tourism, Everywhere in the UK is a tourist site.

My issue with you this poster, you claim to have knowledge in traveling as old as the waters on surface earth.
You are quick to bleep and throw jabs at another user once your op is questioned, i.e even when you make an unforgivable error in your op.
Now you have turned Cover letter editor abi?

Yes, it is still classed with careers in shortages. Basically they may never get enough if covid and brexit effects are to be put into thoughts.

Yes, there are many sponsored job. The insufficiency of staff will take years to fill. Apply away. Avoid busy towns so you get one early. Good luck

11 weeks? Ridiculous. You should contact them and be very stern about holding onto your passport and it has now expired with the added delay to renewing it.

This delay is worrisome. Applied for a 6months visitor's visa for my mum. Biometrics - 14th June. No response. Tried sending paid mail, was debited but it says error processing.

In your cover letter you were talking about London tourist attractions, then on your form and hotel reservations you say Liverpool.
To be very realistic, who stays in Liverpool and wants to do touristing in London?
Like to be going back and forth? It proved to the ECO you are likely not a genuine tourist and on a balance of probabilities might not go back to Nigeria… that’s why all these other reasons came up and he/she refused to believe you are a tourist.

You just carried gun and shot down your credibility to the barest minimum. sorry about the refusal.

His credentials are okay (a job and good salary) but for his ignorance about the UK and traveling documents arrangement. The basic reason for his refusal among other reasons is that he didn't research properly, he was to be in London on the 22nd, 24th ,29th of june and probably 3rd of July before departing London on the 4th of July , all for sightseeing in London but his hotel reservation is in Liverpool, a journey of about 340km by road. It's obvious that the itinerary was arranged by a non professional agent or person who has never been to the UK.
For you to re-aply immediately will only show your desperation since you are not a business owner and you were given permission for a specific period which lapsed on the 11th of July . Next time, tidy up your financial situation as well because it may hurt you in your future application, make London your visiting city due to the good numbers of historical monuments and places to visit for sightseeing and explain less in your cover letter in other not to shoot yourself why over expressing your mission.

Please how do I send a paid mail? I'll like to withdraw my application. Holding my passport for 12 weeks is absolutely ridiculous at this point.

The number of people applying for the UK visa (either visit or study) is alarming. I am sure they have not experienced this kind of surge before.
My sister was at TLS Ikeja yesterday with her family (family of 5). Her appointment was for 12 noon. She didn't get in till 3:30pm.
Guess what guys, she didn't leave there till 10pm, that was when she eventually captured and had to beg to get captured because she had 3 kids with her. The youngest in 2years. She said a lot of people were still there when she was leaving.

I gave TLS a review yesterday and i really hope the look into it (they sent a link to share my experience after my application). This is the worst i have experienced in years since i started applying for UK visas. Its either they employ more hands to speed up the biometrics capture or put a hold for a few weeks and work on clearing the backlog. How do you hold someone's passport for 11 weeks? They just keep collecting money with poor service.

That's the link to contact them via email and calls. I have sent dozens of emails as for the paid calls it not going may be because I am using MTN. It will end in praise!

Biometrics June 28th
Passport picked up August 3rd.
6 months Visa approved .
Exactly 5 weeks.
Ikeja TLS.
One UK denial. One UK approval. One US denial (all declared).

Documents submitted: Payslips, bank statements,  appointment letter, letter of introduction from work, promotion letters, work ID card, family pictures,  pictures of my first UK visit, letter of IV and passport bio page from sibling, bank reference letter, no landed properties or businesses.

Little back story.
I had POF saved up from Canada waka and just impromptly decided to apply for UK tourist visa while waiting for Canada to shake body. I'm a civil servant.  Monthly take home less than 150k. Account balance over 10m. So I was skeptical if I would be given the Visa. Good thing is my statements were in order, no huge deposit at all but even at that I would say it's God that handed me this Visa even though I used spouse and kids as home ties.

I didn't submit any itinerary. No paid mail as well. And I used an agent mostly because I hadn't discovered this UK travel page till it was time for my biometrics appointment. I had thought that due to the high volume of UK applications from Nigeria this year, It would become like USA Visa appointment that only agents could access dates for applicants.  My first two UK applications were done by myself but that was pre-buhari when our naira debit cards could pay Visa fees.

I give God all the glory.

he should go and submit his passport to the VAC showing them the decision mail and explain to them he optioned for keep my passport. They will collect it and contact him back when it's ready for collection. Do that quickly tho

Thank you for this tip. My husband went to submit his passport at the TLS Ikeja office today. He printed a copy of the response from the paid mail, and it was helpful. What i don't understand is why no mail was sent to him to bring his passport even after a decision has been made.

Please has anyone been in this situation or gone the route of keep my passport. Any idea how long it would take from when passport is submitted to collection.
