What would China have done? Bring down Pelosi's plane? Start a war with Taiwan while Pelosi is still there?

I knew U.S. govt would encourage Pelosi to go ahead with the visit because U.S. does not like to appear weak in the eyes of the world. U.S wouldn't want the world to think it caved in to China's threat.

But trust me this Pelosi visit has laid a foundation for future confrontations between China and Taiwan. Because China has started sensing that the island would declare independence with the help of U.S. in the near future and China has to take some drastic measures before that happens.

Like you said North Korea is a rogue nation that does not care. If it were to be NK Kim Jong Un could order the sinking of a Taiwanese ship the way they sank a South Korean military ship in 2010 with their midget submarine killing all South Korean personnel on board.

We can't just call China a weakling or toothless bulldog. Let's see what happens in the coming days after Pelosi has departed. I know China wants to avoid war and the only possible way to start the unification of Taiwan is to infiltrate the govt and politics of Taiwan which is proving difficult. I do not doubt the fact that the Russian military is powerful, but, the Chinese military is on the same par with them right now and will leave them behind very soon.

Most of Russian tanks are obsolete. Most of their tank is made up of T62 and T72. I'm sure you see the way those tanks were eating raw by MANPADS delivered by USA and UK.

Russia is more advance than China in terms of military technology for now, but the Chinese are catching up.

The Chinese are operating a 5th generation fighter jet, the Russians are still struggling with SU 57.

The Chinese have more Naval Fleet than the Russians

Russia is not even as rich as China. Russia has not been able to mass produce the T14 Armata because of money.
