Administrative processing is a catchall term that is used for all sorts of things. They may be doing a security check based on information not known to you. If that is the case you should have been asked to to fill out some paperwork and provide more info. On the the other hand you may have had some information in your application that has aroused the suspicion of the VO and they are looking to give you a hard hit. You could be on the verge of a visa or an interminable black hole. If they gave you your passport back assume that if you get a visa it is going to be a long time.

I had to search for your question. If you want to get a wider range of answers then start from page 10 and read posts. This question has been answered over and over on this thread. A lil research won't hurt.


Go with any document that you feel can help your application. I've gone with statement of account and I wasn't asked for it. Some have been asked. So to be on the safe side, go with it.

Majority of the questions will come from your ds160 form. Hopefully you filled it yourself and every info is 100 truth.

Be honest in your replies. Don't answer what you were not asked. You will only complicate issues. Stay calm and be audible. Above all pray for favour. All the best. Don't forget to go through this thread. You will find more answers.

That's a normal procedure. Hopefully your visa will be out soon. If they need more information, the will let you know.

The first thing you are going to be asked is your purpose of travel and how long you intend to spend in the United States. Even thought purpose of travel is not a specific requirement for the visa, it tells the Consular Officer a good deal about why you have spent $160 for the interview plus your associated travel costs.

POT: I am going to Orlando to for three weeks to visit Disney World and see if it is OK for my kids and pregnant wife, That visa is will be refused.

I am goin to New York City for a week to see the sites with my friend from uni. That has a chance of approval.

No you won't need it unless your reason for traveling to U.S require you to go to the Embassy with one.

Good evening all. My wife, my granddaughter and me qualify for IW. We filled our individual DS 160 forms and have different email addresses and therefore have to log in individually to Schedule Appointments for submission of documents. While filling our individual forms we indicated that we are travelling with each other.
With the current difficulty in getting appointment dates, i am seeking the possibility of any of the 3 of us who manages to log in and get a submission date to be able to submit for the other 2
Please advise me. God bless you.

The application was approved but no date has been released. I have also been denied twice. I just want to hear opinion of someone that have this similar experience and can they decide not to grant me regardless.

Do you have different profiles? If yes then you need to call the embassy to cancel two profiles. Then use yours for the application. Have your passport numbers with you when you make the calls. I can't remember if they ask for ds160 number.
