I'll personally advise you to start applying for internships against next summer (if Spring, even better although there are usually fewer opportunities). If you impress, you can get a full-time offer before you even complete your program and it will help you decide if you want to explore the option of using spousal support to get that kpali or if the company will agree to sponsor you. Your industry still enjoys company sponsorship so you might be favored.
