For people visiting the USA from Nigeria on a tourist visa, have you recently been asked to provide the USA passport of your relative in America whom you intend to stay with?

Additionally, have you been asked to provide their tax transcripts from 2-3 years ago to prove that they can afford to host you as a tourist visiting the country?

I’ve gotten a few people to visit me in the past on tourist visas and it has never come up. Is this a new thing? Anyone who recently went for an interview, were you asked to provide this information? Matter of fact if anyone can answer with specific details of information they were asked to provide as a very young person going on tourism to the USA, that would be incredibly helpful. Thank you!

In 2018, during my interview the VO asked me to provide copy of my sisters US passport, luckily for me l had a copy with me and l gave her, she logged in her status and returned it with the white form. So its very possible.

When asking questions please explain better so people can understand and respond as fast as possible. I assume you mean ds160 form. If you filled it more than 6months ago then you need to fill a new one. Update the number on your profile.

I have been trying to get appointment dates for dropbox for over 2 weeks. Is anyone having similar challenges and what is the way out?
I keep getting the message "No appointment data available" or this screenshot

Hi everyone good evening, please is there anyone that has experienced a situation where the passport on the profile would have had less than 6 months validity by the time the interview is here due to this elongated wait time? By the time the interview is here, the passport will have five months left. Can we take this passport with five months left and a new passport to the embassy?

Every time you interact with you is an opportunity for them to review your status. Getting the visa does not assure your of entry, passing the POE does not assure of being able to stay; asking for a change in status is not a forgone conclusion.

Hello everyone, Please I urgently need some advice. My friend is 3 months pregnant and plans to give birth in the U.S. Is she required to inform the visa officer about her intention to give birth? or she can just apply for a regular U.S tourist visa and then, go there to deliver her baby. Someone told us that giving birth on a tourist visa is risky because it may affect her future applications. Kindly advise us on the best/safest route to take.

I got my answer from the USA embassy helpline, I’ll be writing what they told me just in case someone finds themselves in the same situation.
The answer was yes it’s okay, carry both passports, about to expire passport you used in booking plus new passport.
