Look, Jesus Christ is God's Law and Covenant in the Kingdom of God, and it is against God - a sin - to add to, change or remove commandments from God's Law. So, when you go about using God's Name to do that which God has not permitted you to do using His name, you commit sin against God. Jesus Christ is the Logic in the Kingdom of God, the Logic upon which the Christian life is meant to be founded upon.

When Jesus Christ informed you that He does not desire praise from you or anyone, it means that when you resort to engaging in your praise rituals in His name, your praise is in vain. He does not need it nor did He command it, so it is a meaningless attempt at the worship of Him.

Let's be sincere and earnest. If you were careful to read me, you will see the point I made. There is AN HOW-TO of worship or how we conduct ourselves. The Bible teaches us on how to pray, how to study, how to meditate, how to do the things we do in church. The most parts of the books of Timothy expresses this.

You can't say we can merely do as our heart please in worship of God. No! The scriptures show us the how-to for doing everything we do. 1Timothy 2:8 for instance instructs the lifting up of holy hands. This is clear na!

But nothing in the scriptures expresses clapping as worship. The few times it appeared in old testament, it was an act of mockery.

It's better to be loud where the Bible is loud and to be quiet where it is quiet. We are never asked to do as we please.

David danced to worship God. That was worship in the flesh obviously. See what Jesus says:

John 4:23-24
[23]But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
[24]God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Jesus spelt out something different from what David and co knew. It's the New Testament worship.

Clapping there was not to God. It was in mockery of those whom God subdued over them (verse 3). Throughout the old testament, it was mostly symbolic of mockery except in 2Kings 11:12 where it's used for celebration.

See Job 27:23, Job 34:37, Lamentation 2:15, Ezekiel 25:6, and Nahum 3:19.


The context is the usage of clapping in most places it's used in the scriptures lets us see that it's never an act of worshipping God. At best, at it's very best, it's an applause or an act of celebration. Not worship.

Bible says "lift up holy hands." Let's stay with that! Not what we think it should be.
