Since Private Schools Are Now Charging Exorbitantly For Schooling The Way To Go Most private schools are now charging exorbitantly for schooling. You can imagine telling a parent to bring 150,000 naira for just a kid in primary school. What of parents that have 3 to 4 kids. How will they cope and they are public servants. The way to go may now be home schooling as most parents have started adopting it. 132 Likes 15 Shares |

Private schools have been underpaying teachers for a long time cos they want the fees to be affordable at the expense of the teacher's. How long will those teacher's earn less? Nigerians don dey wise up. Sales girls job: The girls are no longer interested. Private sch teachers are wising up. 109 Likes 8 Shares |

You bet. Since the lockdown in 2020, homeschooling has become some sort of a trend in the Southwest, particularly in rural indigent communities. . It's no longer business as usual for school owners down here. 16 Likes 3 Shares |

guobe: To the government, It's a private business organization. The only way for the government to regulate them is to up their standards. These people pay taxes and other levies to be able to do business in Nigeria. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

guobe:Before this, there needs to be a lot of policies in place to protect business owners. And not just school owners. Most times, business owners are just out on their own; regulating the prices of things themselves while coping with this stupid levy or that silly levy. Then this union fees and that union fees. And the government have no say in this as they don't even do their part to help the business owners. If the government are bad at maintaining their own schools, then they can't even interfere in private schools before they spoil it like their own. 17 Likes 1 Share |

DesChyko:There is no Government in Nigeria just a bunch of people embezzling money to win another election.its a pity. There is price control everywhere and a sensible Government should be able to fix Government schools.I went to Government primary school then and the quality was good unlike now. 12 Likes 1 Share |

guobe: You get? The government is the problem. Sadly, some of them even have their own private schools that charge exorbitant prices too. Just like what happens in our hospitals too. If Government school was a good option, the competition will be right and the cost won't be so high. Also, the government will be sensible when charging levies and the private schools can thrive comfortably or go out of business if they can't cope. All of these boil down to them. Even their own JAMB has moved from a supposedly examining body to one that reports profits every year. 20 Likes 2 Shares |
