Since Private Schools Are Now Charging Exorbitantly For Schooling The Way To Go

Most private schools are now charging exorbitantly for schooling. You can imagine telling a parent to bring 150,000 naira for just a kid in primary school.

What of parents that have 3 to 4 kids. How will they cope and they are public servants.

The way to go may now be home schooling as most parents have started adopting it.
It is not by force for ur kids to attend a private school of 150k. There are still good private schools that do collect about 15, 20k to 40k for kids in primary schools. And there are still some standard government schools that give quality education to kids that the common men can afford.

If u know u can't afford the 150k as a civil servant, then go for the one u can afford and leave matter for matteryas.

Nigerians with unnecessary wahala. No wonder wahala full everywhere for the country so.

To the government, It's a private business organization. The only way for the government to regulate them is to up their standards. These people pay taxes and other levies to be able to do business in Nigeria.

people have been homeschooling for long and they have been moving to the nest level. If you travel abroad do you think those white people care about your certificate in Nigeria? Also how financially buoyant can someone be to be paying huge sum of money for just primary school where there are other bills to be paid.As a civil servant your salary should be able to take care of schoolfees.
Carry your pikin go school you can afford... Everything na level for this life... You will be surprised that the school your child attends some parent there are wealthier than you 20x and more... Do what you can afford ... Simple

There are different classes of secondary schools. But generally, the lower the fees, the lower the quality since they get to pay teachers less and spend less on facilities and equipment. if you cannot afford 150k for a primary school pupil, then it's time to change their school to one that charges less. If no school around you charges what you deem affordable, then you are living in an area above your economic means and should move.

Una go wise up soon.

How many rich people in the US n Europe are sending dia kids to private schools? Talkless of the poor and average over dia?

Why will Nigerians dispose public schools?

Nigerian parents are just working for school owners all in the name of good education.

Una go wise soon.
And schools are not even worth the while anymore with the moribund curriculum. Udemy and YouTube teaches more than schools

How much does government pay qualified teachers??

Is it up to 200k per month??

New grads earn above hundred. Least is 95k.
Some also have access to free housing, etc.

Some Gov teachers earn 300k n above.

ASUU or FG? May you not have a contract with someone and for over 15 years they dont honour it. How will you feel? Will you continue working. FG has failed parents and students. In Rwanda and many African countries Government schools are preferred. If are government provided good primary school do you think private prumary schools or others will be charging so much or we wont av to choose btw 2 good choices?

See what I was saying.

Homeschool licenced and authorized by who?

Registered under what educational body?

When its time to enter the University, with what certified document and criteria? The one you produced at home?

Just put your child in a school you can afford. There are cheaper schools out there. It's you who's looking for standard that you can't afford. When I said let people wait until they are financially strong before having a family so they can give them the best, a lot of men came at me like a wounded lion. Now see...

People who talk from both sides of their mouth are not to be taken seriously and nairaland men are one of such people.

You are very wrong. This private schools are heavily regulated and taxated. For instance in ilorin, an average private school pays a total tax averaging 1.5 million to 3 million each year. Some schools pay as high as 80million.

Doing that will seriously handicap your kids
here's what I did and I intend to do.

Buy lots of books and newspapers plus magazines. My kids will develop interest in reading whilst still very young. Forget about handicap,if a child doesn't enjoy reading, even if you carry him or her to Cambridge, they will still be handicapped educationally

As simple as that!
Not all schools collect 150k. Some collect 5k, too. Can you go to the one of 5k? No? Why the complain? Shoe get size naa. You enter market to buy wears, go for what you can afford. Okirika bend down select dey, schools of 5k dey and some are graduating from school to become prominent. Go for what you can afford.
Not just school, even in house rents, too.

You don't have sense ooo

When you were birthing 3-4 children, were you forced by any private school to do so? Now, you want the gov't to regulate private schools on how to charge tuition fees?!!!!! Where else does that happen?

Who forced your preek to inseminate your wife three times? How's that the fault of a private school?

P.S. My comment also goes to the over 100 animals who liked your stoopid post!

150k is small nah, that's the joining fee in some schools. You never see 500k per child.

Some school are still cheap sha, those ones in Bariga, Egbeda Abule Egba. If not homeschool your children. Side effects : no social skills.
