Ogurube: Do those in Nigeria need those abroad to call them before they vote for obi? Is it not the same obi that those in Nigeria are seeing here all the time? Is it until he goes to the US before nigerians resident in Nigeria will be convinced to vote for him? What kind of logic is that? |

adioolayi: Electioneering has not started as per INEC's calendar. All he is doing now is selling his vision and creating his structure. You know a lot of people in diaspora are sending their people money to campaign for him. He has to also raise funds and this is one of the best ways. Once people buy into your vision, they will be willing to raise campaign funds for you. 1 Like |

pacesetting: You said "Second, it will do a lot of good to his campaign". What are the points you say you gave to support your claim above? Care to share? Buhari was invited by chatham house to the UK some time ago. How does being invited by a US university make obi the best candidate? |

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Nigeria is losing many good people with brains. Now, we have a great candidate who’s making business-minded moves to rub minds with diasporans and gain something to help his campaign and Nigeria. Don’t you see that, broda? kologba: |

descarado:This shows Obi is not charismatic, he is a bad leader. Imaging an ex gov,8yrs gov for that matter celebrating daughter weeding on a low key. Where r the commissioners that worked with him,his aids and political associate. He does not need to spend a dime those ppl should be able to get it done without calling on them. One gud turn deserves another. This is africa, if u r gud ppl will swarm around u; ur siblings, cousins, even ur driver will make donations is kind, gift and cash for a day like that. |

I stated two, but maybe you didn't pay attention. 1. Nigerians in diaspora will contribute a good portion of his campaign funds. 2. While addressing Nigerians abroad, he may also win the hearts of some of those in Nigeria. Many are yet to settle for a candidate. CheapHomes1: 1 Like |

There could be reasons why it was done so. Do you know whether it was the daughter's wish for a low-key wedding? His son is also like that. thedio: |

This was due to his judicious use of resources coming to the state and not put burden on the unborn Anambra people. 31. The only governor that planned for rainy day. He was able to save and handed over 75B to his successor. The only man that saw that there would be cash crutch in the future and planned for it. 32. The frugality, competence and credibility of Mr. Peter Obi cannot be overemphasized because he lives by what he preaches. Why other governors made EFCC or ICPC their home after tenure, he has been working around with his head held high. No single history of court case on graft or otherwise. Anytime they ask you what is Obi achievement, please throw this at them for them to keep shut. |

pacesetting: It seems English language is a problem for you or you don't even understand yourself. You said in your post: "First, Nigerians in diaspora will contribute a good portion of his campaign funds. Second, it will do a lot of good to his campaign." My question was based on the "second" hence... CheapHomes1: For your number 2 point you raised above, are you saying that before obi can "win the hearts of some of those in Nigeria", he now has to travel to visit nigerians in Germany and US first? Where's the sense in that? |

He’s not a wasteful man. He is a true charismatic, not the type of showboating and lavishing person you expect him to be. Besides, his children are a chip off the old block. It may have been his daughter’s choice to keep her wedding simple. thedio: |

Ogurube: He's goal is to solicit some campaign funds from Diasporans. Simple. Majority of Nigerians abroad will not participate nor vote in the election. The real campaign is with grassroots in Nigeria. Talking to and interacting with rural people, the jobless urbanites and masses is where you'll get REAL insight into the problems of this country. Many disaporans, not all, have a disposition to exaggerate the issues and negative things happening back home. Phrases like "failed state", "Nigeria will collapse" permeates the diasporan social media discussions. The conferences Obi will attend in USA, Canada, Germany are organized by resident Igbo associations in those countries. And of course, attendance will be skewed towards Igbos. So what's the value in help him understanding problems facing all Nigerians? |

BATified2023: Dude you need to understand the problem of Nigeria's power situation is not that we don't have genius but there is a lack of understanding of the value chain of power and corruption whereby some cabals because of their selfish interests want the status quo to remain. What PO did going to Egypt is actually the smart thing to do understudy others especially people who share the similar peculiar power situations and have been able to increase output. |

thedio:Please what is the big deal of celebrating wedding in a low key? As that made the wedding not to stand? At least in this country we've seen weddings conducted flamboyantly and the talk of the town and they never stayed for 6 months. I think premium should be paid on whether bride price was paid or not, which is the most legitimate in wedding and how they will live after wedding. |
