Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that he has no preferred candidate among those contesting the 2023 presidential election.

Obasanjo, who stated this in Minna on Sunday when he paid former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar a visit, said he only had a national agenda not a preferred candidate.

“I don’t have a special candidate, I have a national agenda.”

The former President also said he was in Minna to visit the former Head of State who had been indisposed.

“I came to see my brother who has been a little indisposed. I had plans to visit him when he was still in London, but the day I arrived London was the day he returned home.

“So that is why I decided to come and see him at home. He is very special so I had to come.

He also said that “if there is anyone who is indisposed, I will visit and I am still strong.”

The former President who was in a close meeting with Abdulsalami arrived at 12:30 and left at 1:13pm.

Even if OBJ hand pick a person for Local Government Chairman in Ogun State, that person would not win. OBJ has lost his political value long ago. All these politicians go to him do so as a political ritual. Something that you just have to do as a politician in Nigeria. Not that doing so will make you win elections.

It's the simple truth. OBJ can't raise anyone's hand today and be sure of that people will vote for that person. It's the simple truth

Lol.

It may be true that Obi dragged OBJ to help him seek the support of Wike.

But Wike understands the game better, and he refused to agree with such coalition.

Hence, OBJ may not want to appear like he failed, so he wan comot him hand for Obi's matter. cheesy cheesy

No sensible person will allow Mondays to be a sit-at-home like Anambra.

We all want Nigeria to be like Lagos. And we can only follow those who have practical experience. The person who has done it before. And it's no other than Tinubu.

It is too early for the old bird to reveal what is in its hand, hence don't expect OBJ to be categorical as at now on who he is supporting.

Once campaign starts, everybody position go start to dey very clear especially when the letter from the Letter Writer drops.

But......based on speculation, I think OBJ is rooting for Obi and this is for 2 major two reasons:

1. He and the old clique of generals are not comfortable with either Atiku or Asiwaju as both are seemingly uncontrollable
2. There is this chivalrous sense of responsibility to deliver a SE president as a means of uniting the country and this is being driven by external influences, namely the British (remember that Economist piece bashing Asiwaju and the Reuters piece promoting Obi....that's their handiwork). Hence the coded speak of supporting a Nigerian agenda....blah blah...blah.

p.s. There is also the case of using Obi to act as a spoiler for Atiku - who is the least preferred option of OBJ and his clique, but that is a story for another day.

Odds Against Atiku, Tinubu, Obi

*Ex-Lag gov's victory will lead to 24 years of Muslim Presidency.
*PDP flag bearer, extension of Fulani dominance
*LP candidate swims against established forces

Baba, always refuse the urge to shalaye (explain). Let the flat headed ipobians derive any meaning they so wish. To them, visiting Enugu (a 100% PDP enclave) is now a tour to beg Ugwuanyi to support Obi by Obasanjo. I just hope when Atiku or Jagaban is declared president come 2023, the Biafran agitation to leave a 'Zoo' will not be your only option again. Set of confused tribalistic morons. Tueh!
