LAGOS remains Nigeria's No. 1 investment destination based on Q2 2022 Capital Importation report.

Out of $1.53bn that came into the country, Lagos received $1.05bn, which is 69% of total.

Ordinarily it wouldn't have mattered at all but based on popular demand it's necessary to drop it.

Wike is scattering everything even though I think Atiku is not wise on this.

If he wants to win he needs to men fences with Wike. He cannot afford to lose all those States where WIke and his PDP governor friends are ruling

While I agree with you that Atiku needs to mend fences with Wike and make some difficult concessions, Wike is being unreasonable with his actions. It's like what we see in NFL football when disgruntled players who are seeking new contracts go on SM to flirt with other teams.

Wike is a smart politician, however, I don't know how much power he will continue to wield in Rivers State or the SS after his tenure. He doesn't have the appeal/ control of the SS like Asiwaju in the SW. People like J. Ibori wield more power in the SS in comparison. But I agree, Atiku needs to stoop down because his ambition can be ruined by Wike's actions.

Wike after 2023 might be irrelevant but gong into the election he has the power over his state to a large extent during the conduct of the election and February 2023 comes before May 2023 when Wike will be irrelevant.
and this is not Wike alone, He has friends and loyalists like Ortom, Makinde and probably Ikpeazu. These are PDP states where Atiku is expecting to pull numbers in the South

These people working against Atiku gives an opening for another candidate, Being non committal towards a general election is also bad as he will simply look away and let the machinery of the opponents do as they want

Its the same thing Tinubu and ACN did for Jonathan in 2011, Buhari failed to strike a deal with Tinubu, So Tinubu fielded a weak Ribadu barely campaigned for him nor spent money. He did not actively campaign for Jonathan nor against but he just looked away and let GEJ have his ride in the entire SW

Wike instead of working actively might just look away and let LP or APC just have their way instead of actively resisting him like he would have done in an election he has a stake

TBH, I don’t see anything wrong in what Tinubu said about inheriting the gift of tongues from the Bible. After all, without the Bible, would any Christian have an inkling about the gift of tongues?

I am wondering what the problem is with the statement.

There were accounts of people speaking in tongues in the bible, So what was controversial about it?

Context ehn....No be small thing grin

If you watch the video, he was talking about our diversity as a country. And the tongues he was talking about was the Tower of Babel.

Considering the fact that it was the occasion of a Bishop, that example was well in place.

I was surprised to see reactions on FP. Nawa

this is why tinubu is not going to bother talking and giving interviews .

because there is a whole gang that will deliberately misinterpret and skew everything he says to fit their narrative

It's obvious you've not been following. If you have, you can't say Wike is being unreasonable.

1. Ayu who is a party chairman and who is meant to be neutral(at least on the surface) was seen publicly hailing Tambuwal after the PDP primaries

2. PDP insiders have come out to say that Ayu in particular was the one who prevailed on Atiku to drop Wike as Vice against the recommendation of the panel who Atiku himself set up.

What Wike is simply doing is taking his pound of flesh and Ayu must go or nothing. He will not bend over and allow Notherners fvck him in his ass like they did to a lot of Southern politicians in the past.

Lastly, I have said elsewhere and I'll say again. Wike will continue to be relevant beyond 2023. His stooge, a civil servant is the next governor of the state.

It's Tinubu esque

Firstly, I thought you will come up with something more insightful after claiming I am not following. There is nothing like political neutrality even within a party. Within a party there are camps represented by varying interests. Consequently, the narrative that Ayu is supposed to be neutral doesn’t hold waters, worsestill, in Nigerian politics. Within the Democratic Party, you have different positions and that is why some like Manchin can hold the entire country and Biden hostage despite being a Democrat.

Have you forgotten that A. Adamu, the APC chairman even had his own candidate during the APC primaries? Have we seen Adamu campaign aggressively for Tinubu like say Gandollar has been doing even before Tinubu got the ticket?

You may have to look at the history of Rivers politics to understand the dynamics of power and by extension it’s relevance in the SS. Anointing a candidate doesn’t assure anyone of political relevance post tenure, we have seen that over and over again. Odili appointed R. Amaechi, we know how that relationship is going in Rivers State. Wike’s power, control and relevance in the SS can not even be compared to that of Kwankwaso in the core North, worth more Jagaban in the SW or celebrated criminal James Ibori in the SS because it holds no salt beyond Rivers state.

I am inclined to understand Dayo’s position about Wike’s ability to wield power because he is an incumbent governor, nothing past that for me, as it relates to SS. If PDP loses the presidential election, he also loses, except he decamps to APC and gets a position.

Wike should be fighting Tambuwal if he has the courage, not Atiku because his problem started after Tambuwal decided to sell his votes to Atiku…Every other thing is secondary. He should be fighting and taking his pound of flesh against Tambuwal. Ayu may not survive this because Atiku needs all the votes he can gather from Rivers State.

I was particular about you saying he's being unreasonable. He is not and I have shown why. What you want him to do is exactly how people lose their relevance.

Secondly, Odili appointing Ameachi is different from Tinubu appointing Ambode as is Wike appointing Fubara.

You can tell us how well it worked for Ambode when he decided to go against Tinubu. If you don't know, as far as everyone in Rivers state is concerned, Wike is going for third term with Fubara in office.

Atiku may have this perception that these Wike’s 3 won't even matter in scheme of things

I don't believe Makinde can deliver Oyo for PDP even if he aligns with Atiku. Tinubu go win there

I don't believe Ikpeazu can deliver Abia for PDP.

The same goes for Ortom, now that APC has a priest as candidate.

Atiku may even consider allowing them be. If they work for him? Fine. If they don't? No wahala

While I understand you point but this election every vote will count because it will be a tight context as long as Obi is in the race stealing Atikus votes

Its not about winning in some states but reducing loss margin and even in enemy territory, a favorable governor can help you reduce the margin. Its like Chelsea going to Allianz arena to lose 6-0 vs losing 4-2. Both na loss but you can easily recover one in your home territory vs the other

Let me give an example 2015 Election lets use the SE as a case study see Rochas with state machinery was able to get Buhari 133k votes in Imo. While in other SE states see the number Buhari was getting.
Anambra 17k
Abia 13K
Ebonyi 19K
Enugu 14K

Imo alone 133k votes for Buhari. All other 4 SE states 63K total. Buhari had more than double the votes in all 4 SE states in Imo alone
That is the power of sitting governor cooking

Do you think Ndi Imo hate Buhari less than Ndi Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi?

Same thing in the same 2015 look at the entire SS what was governed by PDP except Edo.
Cross River28k, Bayelsa- 5k, Delta -48K, Akwa-Ibom - 58K, Rivers -69K. when it reach Edo 208K

Even in SW where Buhari was getting narrow wins throughout, Fayose was able to give Jonathan victory
That is the power of a governor in a opponent territory.

A sitting governor alone with state machinery holds about 20% of votes he can decide to either throw his weight in with or look away
That is the difference between Atiku making 40% in Oyo state or Atiku making 20% in the same Oyo state

I was going to inquire and clarify from him if the argument had degenerated into comparing Tinubu’s influence and power to Wike’s because if it is, I will not disrespect Tinubu by engaging in such sacrilegious debate.

By the end of Tinubu’s 2nd tenure as governor of Lagos he was a Lone Ranger in AD wrestling power against PDP who had succeeded in sweeping the SW. 2007, post tenure he had succeeded in building structures across the country that subsequently retook the SW, removed PDP from power and continues to influence politics across the nation, especially in the SW.

Like I said earlier, he can wield his power in Rivers state as an incumbent and anoint his successor, however, that doesn’t guarantee anything, neither does it expand his influence past Rivers state. I can list 10 ex governors who anointed successors and today are irrelevant.

If PDP loses and Wike remains in PDP, he also loses. The SS states are Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivere state. Outside of Rivers state can he mention another state in the SS where Wike wields any influence or has structures? Is that who we are using to compare with Jagaban? Heck, celebrated criminal James Ibori who has been out of power for years, gone to jail wields more power across the SS region than Wike.

Wike needs to don more than throwing tantrums and making noise for me to take him serious post tenure.

You used to support Buhari now you follow Obi. Does that make you (according to your own words) "a soul for hire who has sold his conscience for selfish gain to the detriment of his country?"
