These are audio resignations. ASUU is only raising the alarm to coerce the FG into doing their biddings. Perhaps they went on vacations till their demands are met by the FG. The lecturers have more to gain than just quitting.

I don't think he's lying. I don't work in the University but work in one of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria. 3 of my friends japa this year alone and it's not even December yet. Another friend is leaving soon to the UK to resume Msc September. I know other colleagues that moved already. My friends own hit me badly cos I suck at goodbyes but it is what it is. Every sector of the economy is feeling the japa syndrome, banks, telecoms, health, education, etc.

Would you prefer that school fees be paid into an account that is controlled by the VC of the school so he and his/her cohorts can loot it? grin
My brother, finally na true you talk, na the same people. This corruption of a thing has truly eaten deep in this country. Had a case in my university where a staff gave pre-degree students his account number to pay their fees into. When alarm blow, this guy has netted over 100million naira. He's currently in jail as I'm typing this comment now and his properties confiscated.

There's no privacy with lecturers.

A whole facult if not, campus would know of their departure.
Clearly you don't have respect for other people's privacy, but that's not my business. So whatever makes you sleep at night. I'm through with this conversation.

grin And the youths won't have any mentor to guide them in their careers as lecturers. Well, you can discern the result of that.

Nigerian lecturers are currently the lowest paid in Africa. We are in a country where a LGA councilor earns more than a professor and you accuse ASUU of being gluttonous and being greedy. No problem, when Nigerian public tertiary education goes the way the public secondary and primary schools then our eyes go open.

So continue

Obi is not a saint neither is he a perfect human being. But currently, he is definitely much better as the President of Nigeria than Tinubu or Atiku. No one is perfect but Obi is at the moment the solution to Nigeria's many failures or problems to a remarkable extent. Why? He is a very good manager, who has integrity and is not greedy and corrupt like Tinubu and Atiku. Among the 36 states, Anambra had the lowest number of unemployed people when he was governor, and if he were as corrupt and greedy as Tinubu and Atiku, he wouldn't ever leave 86.6 billion naira in the Anambra state's coffers when he was handing over to his successor.

alcuin:

Anambra ASUU went on strive for over 1 year during Obi tenure as governor.

So no, Obi is not the solution.

To be honest, what you said here are no indicators of him being a better candidate. Leaving 86.6 billion in state coffers is not as impressive as growing IGR from 600 million monthly to over 50 billion. Can you really beat that? Anambra has all the potentials to be more than Lagos in the SE.

Let's see things for what they are. Obi is just a average contestant.
Re: UNILAG Leads Mass Resignation Of Lecturers Over ASUU Strike by iezeiyida(m): 9:59am On Sep 02, 2022
If Obi is an average contestant as you alleged, why is Tinubu, Atiku and some other contestants having sleepless nights because he is contesting? Why can't they tell Nigerians what they have to offer but only to focus on attacking Obi without him attacking them back but only replying them constructively and intellectually?

Growing Lagos IGR from 600 million to over 50 billion is not true. Go and verify. Tinubu is the godfather in Lagos since 1999. Do you know how many billions of dollars he has embezzled from that state till now? No godfatherism in Anambra, and that Anambra is not more than Lagos in infrastructural development, is not because of Obi's leadership as governor but because of FG's intentional refusal to build federal projects in the state and SE in general over the years and because of the failures of other governors of the state before and after Obi.

In fact, Peter Obi is the first governor in Nigeria to reclaim his stolen mandate through the court when it seemed very impossible, and the first and only governor in this country to leave such amount in the state's coffers for his successor, Obiano. He is so far the best governor to govern Anambra.

Don't be blind to the truth because of religion, region, tribe or party. Those things haven't helped Nigeria to be great as it should be for decades. I'm not supporting Obi because of any of that. Tinubu is old and physically and mentally incapacitated. Obi is better than Tinubu and Atiku in everything leadership is all about. Those two old fox, are extremely manipulative, corrupt and greedy. That's why they used money to buy delegates at the presidential primaries. Why should you impose yourself on the people even when they don't want you? Lead because you are wanted. Tinubu and Atiku are mentally entitled, desperate old politicians who are ready to buy votes, rigg elections and even kill people because of their selfish ambition.

Let's reject them for the good of Nigeria.

So, you mean no lectures could have resigned?

Small time, your intentionally daft self will say no doctor is leaving Nigeria hospitals to work abroad. >

Anyone who makes such claim should be able to back it up.

By the way, Apples and Oranges.

Countries like UK are not experiencing a shortage of lectures unlike the health sector

I guess there are no lecturers in your family. Ask lecturers close to you if there are such opportunities abroad or not.

Stop talking nonsense.

Anyone can make any claim.

If you claim 6 lecturers have in the last 6 months fled the country for better opportunities abroad, you should be bold enough to give names of at least 3.

I know your type - all bullshit no substance.
