I am also against charging people money to attend a townhall meeting.
But to characterize it as Peter Obi charging people money is mischievous, just another attempt paint mud on Peter Obi.

The organizers of the event make considerable expenses to host huge town hall meeting of that magnitude.
The hall itself cost nothing less than $25,000. Security alone would cost anything in the neighborhood of $10,000 , plus other logistics expenses. Refreshments are also another set of expenses.
The organizers use the event to raise funds to offset the huge costs of the event.
