NezzyMike: Mr Lecturer, he touch you? Go back the classroom and work for your money. No free money anywhere. You dey house doing nothing since February and you want to collect salary. You should be ashamed of yourself. If you own an organisation in the future or you do presently, pay your workers full salary always even when they refuse to come to work due to grievances with you. In saner countries, people are paid hourly. You work for 1 hour, you get paid for 1 hour. It makes people more productive. Lecturers should clock in and clock out to work going forward. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

200 days of ASUU strike is really bad and damaging to the psyche of Nigerian youths. Let the youth vote wisely in next election, otherwise more misery to come. |

The current federal government is very dishonest and stupid. They haven't taken any good action to resolve the issue.. It's shame. You use 1.4 billion to buy cars, use billions for projects in Niger Republic, acquit corrupt politicians and civil servants who have embezzled billions of like naira Abba Kyari, Ahmed Idris and others through the court, but you can't financially provide for ASUU's demands as you agreed with them, initially. Buhari is a leadership failure 1 Like |

Was Atiku not in power when ASUU went on strike 1999,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006 and 2007?? Oh, now he has the solution to our problem. When it comes to ASUU matter, no government has been sincere with our tertiary institutions. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Tinubuwins2023e: Says the novice that graduated from mango tree secondary university . See you wey Neva comot Naija dey write in saner countries , see in saner countries, lecturers are paid well, good infrastructure for effective learning, ICT to reduce stress and up to date library. In Nigeria we have lecture halls with few seats, thereby stressing students to sit on the floor during lectures. How do you think these students will perform well? Let's leave these sentiments and face the government. My prayer is for God not to allow my children to experience university education in this country. Buhari and co should invest in education, this is why private secondary/primary schools are booming, the federal/state owned schools have dilapidated buildings with no seats for kids. If care is not taken, this will be the story of govt owned Universities. 1 Like |

Tinubuwins2023e: I am not biased because I schooled in government Primary/secondary school when attention was always given to schools then. Go to these schools now and see for yourself. In universities, a building that is supposed to contain 200 students, will take up 1000 (does it make sense?). You are against the development of the universities (from your comments), pity our younger generation. For the bolded, yes it shows you haven't experienced Western life. Have you heard of strike that exceeded 5 hours in other countries? 3 Likes |

I stand with ASUU 100% on NO PAY NO WORK. The FG is wicked and sensless. Why churn out Billions of Naira to constructing a railway from Nigeria all the way to Niger Rep. beside another good amount of Billions to buy Vehicles for thesame Niger when you havenāt settled some biting internal needs & problems? Question, what is the economic value of that senseless projects? Do we have any bilateral ties with Niger rep.? 3 Likes |

Ooe33: I support this idea. Let the federal government take that money they would have used in paying ASUU for the six months they did not work and use it to pay the students, instead. Because the students are the ones who are suffering the most from all these wahala. 7 Likes 1 Share |

ASUU is an association of Selfish and greedy individuals who thinks they can always use the Nigerian students education to fight for their selfish interests. Both ASUU and FG have no students interests. FG should stick to the golden rule ' no work, no pay' so that when next ASUU wants to embark on a strike to fight for their selfish interests, they would have to think twice! Those of talking shit about FG sponsoring othe projects with huge sum, let me ask you, is that enough reason for ASUU to be too selfish even at the detriment of Nigerian school system? ASUU wants to rip where they did not sow. I pray FG doesn't compromise the golden rule ' no work, no pay' on this one. ASUU should getat!! 5 Likes 1 Share |

adenigga: My question to the FG and whoever supports the FG in this persecution of Lecturers is, who is going to complete the backlog of work that has stockpiled since February 14? The nature of work done by academic lecturers puts them in a position where there is a lot of work to be done in every semester from the class room to the lab to the office dealing with scripts and documents etc. In most cases, Universities are under staffed, hence the workload. If the lecturers don't do their work for 6 months, that job will be there waiting for them because unlike other kinds of jobs where you can just resume and start from current activities, the lecturers have to start from where they stopped. The students cannot for example move to the next level if they have not been taught, if they don't take their exam and have their scripts marked. So if the FG can contract the backlog of work stockpiled since February 14 till date to someone else, then their no work no pay policy will be upheld. In fact the FG should be helping the lecturers to resolve this backlog of work that have resulted due to the striking process, this would show their commitment to education. But you see, the FG doesn't give a fvck whether the work is done or not. not paying the lecturers the six months salary would mean that they can resume and abandon the work on the table. The fact that the FG know this and has decided not to do anything about it is what should disturb the students and Nigeria as a whole. 4 Likes |

Insensitive government. See the way he's even talking, it's infuriating. I wouldn't come back to teach if I hear these words. "It's only a THIEF that wants to eat where he didn't work" "They should come back to class and BEG" FG is the biggest scam of all time. There's hardly any administration that did not experience ASUU strike because FG is always in the business of coming to the table with deceit. Pay these people and let them get back to class oh ye bastards 1 Like |

At this point the best solution is to meet eachother in the middle. FG can pay half salary for the period they were on strike. After all ASUU claims the strike lingered for so long because the FG was not serious about resolving the issue and they would also have to handle the backlog of work when school resumes. |

Madmazel99:And a few other greedy people will loot the money budgeted for the salary of university lecturers abi? You can talk about them forfeiting allowances but not their salary. Do you realise that some of them have been living on credit since the strike began? Have they been feeding on grass since the strike began? If not for the irresponsible government, there wouldn't have been strike in the first place. Let's be objective when responding to issues such as this please. 2 Likes |
