But let's blame the deceased Queen of England. She should apologise for her inactions during the war and ever since.

I don’t think anybody should be blaming the queen for us not moving past a war that ended 52 years ago.

Even Rwandans that fought a deadly civil war as recent as 28 years ago have moved on and already making their country a number 1 tourist destination in Africa .

bro on one was blaming the queen for today's unbecomings as nihilist and above posters paints it to seem

If someone was at the forefront of your maltreatment, let's say 50 years ago.. yes today you have moved on.. but let's say that person happens to die or an event happens that makes you remember those days and you re opportuned to voice your opinion.. will you sing kumbaya to the culprit in the name of moving on?

Won't you recount those years the person maltreated and treated you wrong?
I don't get what these. People mean

So we shouldn't remember what the Britain and hag Elizabeth did to our fathers in the Biafra struggle just because we have moved on?

Like I have always maintained there are lines you don't cross and once you chose to cross such you should be prepared to face any consequence that follows suit, we don't pick which line to cross at our convenience and not expect a pushback. To some it is their faith, ethnicity, family, source of livelihood, friends and others it is something other than those; I always avoid insulting the sensibilities of others but once you insult mine expect my reaction.

I'm tired of you people constantly shifting goal post mehn.

Uju Anya said The queen was responsible for thr death of 3 million people in Biafran war.

Roland17 came and said that the Queen's actions were responsible for Biafran war.

Nihilist said that blaming the Queen for Biafran war instead of Emeka Ojukwu is a stupid thing to say.

The same thing that Ojukwu did, picking up a gun and forcing an entire region into war, is what IPOB, Kanu, Ekpa and goons are doing now.

However, we're not seeing the same smoke for them. None of the guys that was blaming the Queen for Biafra war has blamed anyone else for this latest IPOB attack, so let's kuku continue blame the dead Queen again for her actions or inactions instead of the people that are sacrificing their kinsmen in the name of Biafra.

The Labour Party Presidential candidate doesn't think climate change is a priority for Nigeria.

His response to questions on green energy/energy transition and climate change was terrible.
Someone should tell him that climate change is a NATIONAL SECURITY concern for Nigeria.

We also have commitments to achieve our Nationally determined contributions, Net Zero target and energy transition. Strengthening adaptation and resilience is essential.
Any candidate without basic knowledge of climate change science and Nigeria's climate action targets is not serious.

Secondly, you keep using china as a model, but you don't know the Chinese are racing toward becoming a key player in the green industry era.

Let me ask u a question ; Nigeria gained independence from Britain in 1960 and 7 years after Nigeria goes into a civil war in a bid to fight for the sole of the nation…… Theowback to 55 years ago; who would u have supported? Is it the country u granted independence or its breakaway version ?

Most times when we talk about the civil war, everyone wants to talk about the casualty on one side of the war instead of talking about the root and remote causes of the war.

We should be talking about the 1966 progroms, the coups that led to loss of lives on both sides , etc. These aforementioned issues are not British caused but issues amongst our people who could not live at peace with each other .

The British monarch saw two brothers willing to kill each other and the British monarch only sided with one party against the other. That’s all.

We are our own problem . No be the British monarch that has 10’s of such countries with similar civil crises to deal with

As far as this civil war matter is concerned , I will suggest individuals should try and get books written by different actors in the war and then form ur own opinion about what really happened in the war. We should stop basing our opinions on few people who just want to write things from their own viewpoint only .

Myself for example I’ve read Obasanjo’s account of the war, Wole Soyinka’s “the man died “, Chukwuemeka Ike’s “Sunset at dawn “ , Chinua Achebe’s “ There was a country “ ..:.. I could sense the bias of different authors and yet I could still make out some of the stuff that were facts and those that are just emotional diatribe .

However , if u only read opinions of ur revered author and choose to read other pieces without open mind, u are sure to believe some falsehoods that have been repeated so much that it now looks like the truth

Donjazet and other notable Peter Obi supporters seriously advise your candidate not to put our videos like these. Like I have warned before actions like this can only discourage people who would have ordinarily been disposed to voting for him.

Exactly. I have read those and the bias and need for justification can be seen in practically all of them.

Another good book is Why We Struck by Ademoyega although this focuses more on the 1st coup.

Most people read those books to confirm their bias rather than to educate themselves.

Show me where Peter Obi in anyway denigrated an entire tribal group but here we have the wife of your candidate on 3 separate occasions insulting the igbos. From publicly saying her and her husband don't trust the igbos again to laying curses on Igbos with the local gods, to Tinubu imposed oba trying to force all igbos in Lagos to vote a particular candidate.

Tell me you're not mad like this?

Tinubu's base has become as sadistic and tribalistic as can be.
Just look at how Roland17 poured out his heart and grief as to how the war affected his family personally only for nihilist, a yoruba Tinubu supporter to swoop in and insult the hell out of him without an iota of emphaty to his pain.

Larride, can you point me to where you condemned rabbit and adepoju for saying igbos are cannibals, igbos are ugly, igbos are effeminate, igbos are transgenders?

Can you show me where you condemned those hateful talking points??

Useless hypocrites!!

Thunder and sango will fire you and everyone associated to you, you this wretched good for nothing bastard.

That tribal way you and your candidate want to turn this election into, we will gladly help you take it there and match you fire for you, you this son of a wretched LovePeddler.

This is actually even the tame version of the story

The truth is that civil war was never about the soul of any nation.

It was about the sharing of stolen resources.

I want you to go through the list of every military leader we've had since independence- All of them were coupists and decision makers from the set of officers that fought the civil war

Buhari was Muritala Muhammed's direct line Report as Head of 1st Division. OBJ was Muritala Muhammeds direct line Report as Commander of tbe 2nd Division. IBB was a direct report of TY Danjuma. Abacha was directly involved in the July 1966 counter Coup. And so on and so forth

ALL of these guys rotated themselves in and out of the Head of State. Ojukwu was the only one that refused to play ball and wanted to take the Oil Fields for himself instead of share it with the rest of the crew - it's very important to note that the republic of Biafra he declared did not stop in Igbo land and it covered all the oil fields in south-south.

There was no chance TY Danjuma (who actually now OWNS oil fields in the south south) and gang would let their fellow thief Rob them of their loot.

Britain initially didn't even declare support until they were sure which side would control the oil fields.

A simple Wikepedia perusal even details what the British High Commissioner at the time wrote to SHELL in recommendation of which side to pick..
Ojukwu, even victorious, will not be in a strong position.

He will require all the international help and recognition he can get.

The Federal Government would be much better placed both internationally and internally. They would have a cast iron case for the severest treatment of a company which has subsidised a rebel, and I feel fairly convinced they would press their case to the lengths of cancelling the Company's concessions and nationalising their installations.

I conclude, therefore, if the company does change its mind and asks the British Government for advice, the best that could be given is for it to clamber hastily back on the Lagos side of the fence with cheque book at the ready

However, It wasnt even until FG captured the ocean oil terminal at Bonny on 25 July 1967 that the British Prime Minister Harold Wilson decided to back Nigeria with military aid.

The short answer is that Britain's approach was "since una no wan get sense, I go pick the one way favour me"

Instead of tackling the guy responsible for the nonsense, they said its the Queen that killed 3 million people.

It is the nonsense they are turning this election into. You think its coincidence that they started calling anyone supporting Tinubu a tribalist.

At least their agenda is coming out in full force and they will get it back in full force. If they think the rubbish they did with the Fulani, they will try it with Yorubas without receive double fire, they are in for a rude awakening.

Ofcourse they’ve been there but like I said, I personally don’t know anyone clamouring for Biafra and believe me, I have a large extended family as well as lots of friends.
I lived within the communities, travelled around Anambra and when enter buses… You’ll see more of Israel and Nigerian flags.
In my opinion, it’s more rampant in Abia and Imo state but Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi are pretty chill on the issue.

The issue is that people keep changing the topic being discussed. It started with a debate over whether the late queen was responsible for the death of millions during the Biafra War but you are now presenting anecdotal evidence that nobody in the Awka is obsessed with Biafra.

Even if nobody in Awka thinks about Biafra that is not the question to be answered. How is the popularity of Biafra in Awka linked to the culpability of the queen (or other players) in the civil war.

Yeah but you omitted the rest of the thread where he calls out IPOB, ESN, and Ebube Agwu specifically for what they're doing.

He denounces IPOB as terrorists and their actions as Gang wars.

What he said did not support your anecdotal argument that you'd never seen or heard about IPOB in 5 years.

The man is literally telling you that these IPOB guys are active all over the south east and using the Biafra cause to prosecute their selfish business.
