Good morning NLs. Please I have questions for you guys to help me out with; I want to sponsor my elder brother and his family to Sweden, (he saw me through school and I want to do something special for them as they've always wanted to travel out). 1) Which country is the best bet to apply for Schengen Visa for virgin passport holders? 2) What documents are required for me as their sponsor and for them, too? (As I plan to apply for them by myself). 3) How much proof of funds do I need to show as they will spend 2 weeks there. 4) One of his kids do not have his passport yet as he is just 3 Months old. But they have applied for him. All others have. Can I apply without the baby's passport while we await it? 5) Am I paying the processing fee of €40 same time as the Visa fees or till they are about to go for biometrics? Thank you as I await your responses. I hope to apply as soon as possible |

I'm not sure what you meant when you said the best country to apply for Schengen visa because all these countries that I am aware of will review your paperwork and only grant you a visa if they believe you merit it. I normally apply for Schengen visa through France embassy because the processing time is FASTER. The sponsor will show - A 3 month bank statements - Letter of support outlining your relationship with the applicants and your motivation for sponsoring them - Any additional documentation that can help their applications The applicants will show their - Bank statements - Letter from their jobs or business documents - Payslips - Marriage certificates - Kids’ birth certificates - Any other documents they think might help their applications. You will need to show that you have enough fund in your account to cover the cost of the trip. Those who have their passport ready can apply now or wait for the other kid. Either way is fine. You will pay the VFS service fees online to enable you book appointment. The application fees will be paid at VFS center. 3 Likes |

Okay thank you , is it compulsory I add the kids statement of account , though I’m the one sponsoring everything ? And cover letter be done individually or just one for the family ? Ashirioluwa: 1 Like |
Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Ashirioluwa: 2:50pm On Sep 21, 2022 |
meljoe: -The parents’ bank statements will be enough. -The main applicant will write a cover/introduction letter. -Sponsor will write letter of support Weather you are sponsoring them or not they still need to show home, family and economic ties. This is my own personal opinion. Attaching all these documents to your application doesn’t guarantee that the visa will be issued or not 1 Like |

Yes I know I’m just putting the documents together , they don’t need to have each of them introduction letter then I will do cover letter summarizing everything ? Or just me writing an introduction for myself and introducing them also Ashirioluwa: 1 Like |

Iampeaceful: I will advise you should not state you are sponsoring them. Since they are family embassy believe family can take care of their travel. You can transfer the money to your brothers account to show prove of fund while presenting bank statement I don’t see the possibility of getting the visa if you appear as their sponsor . Guid them with the information you got here on how to apply and provide necessary documents for the visa as self sponsor, when they get the visa you can take responsibility of their trip. You have to wait for the child passport to be ready since they are applying as a family. 2 Likes |
