I'm sorry brother but this is very misleading. I don't know about Canada and the US but the country I live atm, you can comfortably make over 3 million a month after tax and paying bills.
You made a good point later on about Nigerians not doubling their hustle while in Nigeria. TBT, you can equally make over 3 million a month in Nigeria if you put pride/ego aside but unfortunately, the infrastructure in Nigeria is not very encouraging.

You get time arguing with him
I save more than $1000 every month
It depends on my expenses but I have never save less than that
He thinks everybody abroad is as miserable as those ones he know. It like they deny him visa or he doesn't have enough money trying to give himself hope

If a person commutes to and from work, he can earn $30 or more a day just by offering a ride share to the city from the suburbs and back without even going out of his way. He can also do Amazon flex, Ubereats, or DoorDash for 2 hours a day while only working one job. I tip my food delivery guys well so one customer can easily tip them $10 or more.

What did I ever do to you that’s beyond forgiveness like this? Babe.. I have tried but I just can’t let you go.

I am actually talking about a single person. Please if you have insight can you breakdown how it is possible to save $30 daily living in Canada? We can start with their pay scale after tax

Do you lives in abroad or Nigeria?

You can only know the truth or get first hands knowledge if you live in one of developed countries. You must understand these 2 principles of human's nature.

1. People hardly tell you what they made or save except you work in the same place and save at the same place.

2. Power to save depends on individual, some cant manage themselves no matter how big their incomes, while some are so focus that they can save significantly out of nothing.

In Australia, some people can save more than 200Aud daily, depending on the job, lifestyle(choice of rent, eating out etc)
From my salary I would love to think , I save up to 200-250Aud daily except rent weeks then I can say 150-200

I would say more than 40% of Nigerians here save that much

Mr man, your friend lied to you. Saving (not even earning) 15,000 CAD in 3 months is impossible. During summer, I earned $20/hr for 40hrs a week, which is typically the highest they pay students. I made about $12k. 10% of my income went to taxes, I payed for accomodation, feeding, transportation, phone bill and others MONTHLY. I was able to save only $4500. Get you facts right. Besides OP is just seeking engagement, he knows better.
leody:

Some people wey dey there dey see pass that amount per day. I know of a guy here in Canada during that pandemic he saved 15000cad in 3 months. And na just students o so In short the op is talking bullshit.

Please I know summer is like 3 months. So from your calculation you made almost $10,000 in three months before tax and was able to save 4,500 CAD? How did you do it if I may ask?

What is this obsession with trying to compare Nigeria and abroad or consoling yourself as you have no means to japa. So as an uber driver if you get into an accident is there any ambulance or adequate equipment ( oxygen, mri scanners to even treat you). You are driving on roads that are not even safe, with potholes and traffic ( reducing you life span and risking exhaustion). The amount quoted is not what the average driver earns in Nigeria too. You are also using official rate to convert in Canada if I want to send money home i will sell at bllack narket rate not cbn rate same for those in Europe and USA. So 30 dols in Canada is 15k while in the USA its 21k. In Canada i have access to loans like car loans and mortgage at less than 5% per annum. do you qualify for that in Nigeria. you are living in a conducive environment, with 24hours light, with lots of recreational activities, cheap food, no bandits and kidnappers you dey compare with Nigeria what a shame. the average person in my cycle is saving 2k to 3k monthly dollars, can take vacations and trips, enjoy good health care, children with access to quality education etc. something you cant do in Nigeria. All your politicians and elite all have their kids abroad with dual citizenship. you think they are fools Even first lady run go Dubai . In the Lagos the average man is earning 40k a month, how about show them how to make more money instead of comparing. Abeg make una rest.

It is more than possible for people working in some fields or jobs.

Also remember most Nigerians living abroad legally don't do single job.

$30 is too small na lol

You should be asking if they save up to $100 a day which some single, hardworking and focused Nigerians on target do save when embarking on a project back home.

In fact Nigerians should encourage more Nigerians to migrate out of Nigeria because Diaspora remittances are one of the things keeping Nigeria affloat.

We need more Nigerians to migrate legally abroad to boost Nigeria's economy.

The only thing I know is, if you have big dream of becoming a dollar millionaire or billionaire, it is easier to achieve it living in Nigeria with the right business ideas, capital and cycle of friends than it is abroad as a Nigerian migrant.

But for those wanting to break the yoke of family and generational poverty, and position their kids for better future, it is easier for a Nigerian born as a nobody or a commoner to succeed abroad than in Nigeria.

Succeeding abroad through legitimate work is easier for young people and those born into average families than it is for them in Nigeria

The answer is simple : If you doubt how possible or impossible it is to save that amount, you probably need to be in the system. ('Cause you simply don't believe in those who are already in the system)

The OP is only curious to understand how possible.

I have read this thread from the first page to this page and all I can see are misconceptions.

Yes, it is possible. (Don't ask me how because the answer has been given on the first paragraph)

@naijaboy99 is trying to simply say Nigerians are putting in efforts on jobs in developed countries they can't do here in Nigeria.

But the OP absolutely forget that we have a different economic system.

You can still work very hard here in Nigeria and be frustrated by the economic system.
You can still do everything right in Nigeria and still get it wrong.

You are simply saying most Nigerians are lazy that's why they find an escape route to travel abroad, but in reality how would you explain the colour 'blue' to a blind man (maybe unless he can see)....

People are not leaving Nigeria because they want to save, they are leaving because of security in every sense (career, education, health, children, etc)

If you still think saving $30 is impossible, you can hold to your own opinion and stop being dogmatic (If here was better, the people who makes N100,000 or more as daily profits MAY not have any reasons to relocate)

On this special paragraph, I respect your constructive criticism, @naijaboy99

Advice : Run your race and wish others well ✌
PS: I am highly open to be corrected (If by chance you have saved (not earned) N10,000 today in Nigeria)

Good morning. Hope you know $30 daily is $11,000 annually? Most Nigerians abroad visit Nigeria once in 5yrs so assuming they save that much that will be $55,000. 90% of Nigerians who visit come with less than $30,000 after five years of working hard. Many have never seen that total amount in their account 20yrs after traveling. So you understand my logic now?

$30 savings daily is ridiculous for people living in US, Canada, Australia even EU countries with only odd jobs.

A lot of them save it because they do more than one job.

I don't know how you want to calculate it but they save more than that.

Please stop trying to discourage Nigerian youths from migrating to saner countries.

Nigeria mostly favor those with strong financial background or those ready to engage in criminality and those that are already established in a viable business or career.

Infact my savings in Nigeria is much more than abroad but I never for once want to stay in Nigeria... If you're looking for where to become a millionaire Nigeria is the right place but if you're looking for where to live a cool life without comparison then travel out.
I alws say I want to give my future kids the best life a child can ever want which I don't think I can achieve it in Nigeria. Infact sef i didn't travel out for any kid, i did it for myself... I want a better life for myself.

lol. You are one very funny person. How is diaspora remittance boosting economy or keeping the country afloat? Na wa o. This your own economics na ghenghen. It ain't a major part of GDP so it ain't boosting any economy. If not for how the elite class has pauperised Nigeria, which slightly sensible nation will bank on diaspora remittance as fundamental to GDP, boosting economy etc. Nigerians are complaining about high Forex, but we are fuelling it big time. The demand is tooooo much because of Japa. Now this is backed by economics. I want this wave of Japa to subside ASAP, hopefully by end of 2023 make everybody wey wan cut out don cut out, so that naira can start recovering. Hopefully we won't have a more morose and inept CBN gov like Emefoole

Below is GDP of India 2021 - 3 trillion
Diasporans - 87billion
That is about 2.5% if I'm not mistaken. Do this same calc for Naija and see the percentage. Maybe if all 200millionof us leave sha, until then your theory no click. C for cheers
