A middle-aged man suspected to be involved in stealing power-generating sets in Aba, Abia State has been lynched by a mob of angry residents along Faulks road Aba.

ABN TV gathered that the suspect along with two others had in the early hours of Saturday hit the city, scavenging for generators to steal.

They are said to specialise in moving away with generators while it is still on but luck ran out for the victim whose identity could not be identified.

His accomplices were said to have taken to their heels to avoid the residents’ anger.

This is not about you coming "out one morning and start looking for brand new generator without knowing who stole it"! It's about you suspecting someone stole it and what you do about it!

After you burn the suspect, did you get your "brand new generator" back? And what if your suspicions proved to be wrong once you've now considered the facts and the evidence, and the person you suspected and have burnt turns out to not be the person who stole your "brand new generator"? Would you unburn them and say you are sorry?

I was at Ketu Busstop some almost 50+ years ago when someone started yelling "ole, ole". Suddenly, some man was grabbed and begun to be beaten. I jumped in, as small as I was, telling everyone it was not true, and eventually, he was let go.

What had really happened and which no one saw was that the person who yelled "ole" was the ole, and only began shouting when his hand was caught in the pocket of the person he accused. And when he shouted ole, the members of the Ketu Busstop Pickpocket Association joined in to protect him.
