Olowozain:

You are absolutely correct! "The initial review stage sorted candidates on the basis of their qualifications and years of experience for applied roles in line with the Commission’s scheme of service." Everyone that were invited for the aptitude test are perfectly qualified for the roles they applied. 70-160 candidates are definitely qualified for a particular position. However, 2-4 candidates will be selected at the end. Cutting edge advantages count everywhere in the world among tens to hundreds of qualified candidates! Cutting edge advantages are luck/favors, favorably connections, recommendations etc. We are all qualified in all ramifications, and not all qualified will be recruited, so let stay positive! Unlike the private sector where they hired the ones with exceptional skill sets. In the public sector, adequate skill sets plus cutting edge advantages are enough to get hired.

And those working in power sector has additional advantage as NERC is a regulator of the particular industry & they had experience in that field

Good question
Re: The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC") Is Recruiting. by cumacious: 5:32am On Oct 10, 2022
My observation based on this recruitment process is that:
Nerc application closed on 15th of July, 2022 and they started inviting successful applicants for aptitude test on 15th of September, 2022.
Meanwhile, test took place on 22nd and 27th of September, 2022.
Now, Maybe they will start sending the notifications for the next step on 27th of October, 2022 if the recruitment process is to be completed before next year general election. If they ignore next year general election, the next step should be 27th of November, 2022.
Like two months interval.
This is just my observation please!
Good luck to all of us.

All these analysis for ordinary test. There's absolutely nothing hard in getting top scorers and proceeding to the next stage, it doesn't take even a day, everything is computerized.

I once said the test is just formalty purpose like we aren't in Nigeria..and someone tackled me and said NERC goes by merit.. that he/She knows a commissioner there ..it's just following due process . there is reason not pasting the result..for example if the president has a Candidate and the person doesn't meet the cut off ,will dey not give the person offer letter ..dey themselves wnt want to try it ...and this one they have limited slot ,they will share it within senate ,house of rep ,the presidency, the commissioners in federal character and the commissioners in NERC.
Rest will be by merit

Perfectly said

HOW MUCH THE NERC PAYS ITS WORKERS
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) pays its entry level/fresh graduate personnel a monthly salary between the range of ₦250,000 and ₦290,000 after tax on average in 2022.

When allowances and incentives are added to a NERC employee’s compensation, it considerably increases.

NERC is actually a fantastic place to work, they have very few staff but the few staff are well paid.

This question isn't necessary at this point. Wait till you get to that stage, then you can choose to accept or reject what's on offer

Dear nonireel, I think it is necessary for those who'd like to weigh various options.

I can recall how some of us (EH) paid for flights, lodged in hotels, went through a lot of stress and even missed work at our places of work just to attend NNPC interview that later amounted to naught for the EH component. Oh, and we were given pittance as reimbursement for flights when some of us paid more than thrice that amount for flights (to and fro) and hotel. I personally missed my return flight on Saturday (last flight via Air Peace on the same day of the interview) due to excessive delays from the NNPC organisers and panelists, and had to pay additional amount of N11,000 for next day's flight.

Now, imagine if I am already earning X amount of money per month or have a pending offer in a firm but have a slim chance of securing NERC APL with renumeration of X-1. Don't you think I'd prefer to have all the details required to make an informed decision before even bothering myself with tests, interviews, expenses and risks of missing work and being issued a query at my current workplace?

For me, there is no information that is unnecessary at this stage, just sift through and collect whatever details you find interesting/appealing...

This country's process of recruitment is not always transparent, let us just keep praying and if you have anybody you know on top, kindly go and ask them for favor or lobby for the job or any other organizations because from now to December many APLs will fly from different government organisations

He only post when he is 100% certain of information. Not "I heard blah blah...." Better he takes his time so long as the information would be accurate not posting hearsay like everyone else is doing in this thread.

lol..you should be talking about Grade Level salary structure and not mere degrees category salary scaling. The way you put up this figure based on Degrees kinda revealed you have not worked in a structured organization before.

Normally, entry level is Bsc while Msc is level 9. That's exactly what she meant.

not true, B.Sc with experience could gain higher Grade Level than someone with M.sc without tracked experience record. Someone with B.sc in GL12 in State public service or Structured private sector for example, getting this NERC could be placed in GL10 step 4, while someone with just M.sc will end up with GL09 step 1. Experience is way different from just degrees in terms of placement.

I agree with you. Besides, you went full circle on me, and came back to what I thumbed. We now agree that entry level for MA is GL 9 step 1? Remember, "entry level" is the keyword here. Why would an experienced person apply for an entry level position and still want to hold on to the experience? Besides, having an MA/MSc and PhD are usually tagged "added advantage".

I agree with you. Perhaps what she meant was entry level salaries for each, as upward salary review goes with experience.

I was once interviewed by two managers whose both worked their way up through apprenticeship without formal qualifications. They had no licenses, neither did they recognised by any professional bodies in my industry. Experienced rules the world! President Buhari rules Nigeria with Msc/MA/Phd? Mostly everywhere in the world, the minimum qualification to attain highest position is Bachelor Degree. In a company where a project director highest qualification is Bachelor degree in civil engineering with 25 years of industry experience and a guy with a Master degree in Civil engineering is currently an Assistant Engineer with 2 years of industry experience! Are you telling us to swapped the guy on a Master degree (Assistant Engineer) with the project director because the project director highest qualification is Bachelor degree? Once you have Bachelor degree, the rest are add on for your sake! Degrees can not replaced or earn higher experienced!

Confidence in a federal government recruitment?
Go through the NCDMB thread and see how confident people with high test scores, most of them are in denial now.

Omo, this is just misplaced priorities
